RFDAH Late Show Recap

For as much as I fear running out of material, and I do, another hour flew by.

The show in short:
Mumbai Update: RFDAH theory, the captured Jihadi had been prepared for the possibility of capture and interrogation, and the "masterminds arrested" were patsies. The names given up by the arrested attacker were planned fallguys. Either the LET arrested in Paki raids knew in advance and had deals worked out with ISI for house arrest etc., or were being double crossed. Either way, I highly doubt that a team that planned such a successful attack would be so careless as to allow for the real masterminds to be caught so easily.

: Score 1 for the good guys. Judge rules giving to soft jihad same as hard jihad and Shariah compliant=terrorist compliant.

George Mason Takes It from Islamists IIIT

From http://yidwithlid.blogspot.com
By WILLIAM MAYER and BEILA RABINOWITZ

November 12, 2008 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - On November 3, 2008 George Mason University [GMU] announced an agreement to accept an offer of $1.5 million made by a Saudi tied, Islamist organization called the International Institute for Islamic Thought [IIIT], to endow a chair in Islamic Studies. [source, http://eagle.gmu.edu/newsroom/722]

The decision by GMU to accept IIIT's funding places it well within a now established tradition of American universities bending to the will of Islamists in order to grab whatever cash is being dangled in front of them.

Whether the decision makers at GMU were aware of IIIT's long association with groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood and self-confessed terrorist Sami Al Arian, is really ancillary to the question, because whatever the decision making process, entering into a relationship with this group is not justifiable. If the university's officials were ignorant of IIIT's reputation as a radical Muslim organization, GMU's failure to adequately vet their prospective partner demonstrates a rejection of the most basic business practices at best. If however they were aware of IIIT's reputation and still went ahead in accepting the grant the entire matter becomes even more difficult to defend.

The IIIT is part of an Islamist mini-empire based in Herndon Virginia. According to FBI documents IIIT has taken a lead role in establishing a plan to Islamize the United States. That plan was drawn up by the Egyptian terrorist group, the Muslim Brotherhood, also known as the Ikhwan. The group has been the subject of surveillance for over 20 years.

In the declassified FBI document [originally marked SECRET] excerpted below, first made available by Steven Emerson's Investigative Project, the IIIT is linked to the Muslim Brotherhood's blueprint to destroy America from within, "to institute an Islamic Revolution in the United States."

"...This is an example of the ongoing intrigue and evaluation that the IIIT leadership of the various subsidiary Muslim organizations they control [redacted] advised that they constantly direct and fund the individuals who compile reports utilized by the IIIT leadership to determine the amount of financial support or their political support for the leadership of various Muslim organizations or mosques located in the United States...advised that in addition to the internal political structure and organization of NAIT..." [North American Islamic Trust, an Islamic waqf, which is being used to place many U.S. mosques in a holding company type arrangement] "...as controlled by the IIIT leadership that as members of the Ikhwan [Muslim Brotherhood] they are involved in organizing external political support which involves influencing both public opinion in the United States as well as the United States Government. [redacted] has, based on comments and statements by the current leadership of the IIIT, determined that they are implementing Phase I of the overall six phase Ikhwan plan to institute the Islamic Revolution in the United States [redacted] has advised that the Ikhwan is a secret Muslim organization that has unlimited funds and is extremely well organized in the United States to the point where it has set up political action front groups with no traceable ties to the IIIT or its various Muslim groups. They also have claimed success in infiltrating the United States Government with sympathetic or compromised individuals...In phase I of the Islamic Revolution as followed by the Ikhwan, the IIIT leadership has indicated that in this phase their organization needs to peacefully get inside the United States Government and also American Universities...the ultimate goal of the Islamic Revolution is the overthrow of all non-Islamic Government and that violence is a tool...Muslims in the United States have to be prepared for Martyrdom..." [source, http://www.investigativeproject.org/documents/misc/159.pdf]

As the IIIT's website makes clear, its Vice President Jamal Barzinji was at George Mason for the signing of the agreement, but who is Barzinji?

Barzinji is an Islamist and according to terror researcher Kenneth Timmerman, he has close ties with a host of radical Muslim organizations, including some who have been in turn linked to al-Qaeda:

"...Jamal Barzinji, an Iraqi who heads a network of investment companies and nonprofit groups that have been targeted by the Greenquest task force investigating terrorist-related fund raising. Barzinji's Marjac group of investment companies and the various charities he heads share office space, accountants and interlocking boards. They sometimes are referred to by federal prosecutors as "555 Grove Street," an address they used in suburban Herndon, Va. Money financing the 555 Grove Street network has been traced back to big-name Saudi investors.
Organizations operating out of Barzinji's offices included the International Islamic Relief Organization, the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), and al-Haramain, all of which have been blacklisted by the U.S. Treasury Department because of their ties to al-Qaeda. Until the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, the head of the WAMY office in Herndon was Abdullah bin Laden, younger brother of the Saudi terrorist who heads al-Qaeda. All of these groups were raided and their files seized by the Greenquest task force on March 20, 2002...previously sealed affidavit that lays out the government's motives for the massive raid alleges that Barzinji and his Safa Group companies were "suspected of providing material support to terrorists, money laundering, and tax evasion through the use of a variety of for-profit companies and ostensible charitable entities under their control, most of which are located at 555 Grove Street, Herndon, Virginia."[source, Kenneth Timmerman, US Muslim Power Broker's Ties To Terror Suspects", http://jihadwatch.org/archives/000968.php]

As referenced in previous articles [for example, CAIR, The Muslim Brotherhood And The Khalil Gibran International Academy, The "Civilization-Jihadist Process" Is Well Underway ] this plan by the Muslim Brotherhood [called "The Project] to infiltrate and subvert from within, became a key piece of evidence [government exhibit GX3-85, a .pdf of which is accessible HERE, ] submitted in the prosecution of the Holy Land Foundation [HLF] the United States' most significant terror funding trial.

The 32 page document was seized during a 1991 raid on the Virginia residence of one of the HLF prosecution's unindicted co-conspirators. Half in Arabic, half in English, it outlines the audacious scope of the undertaking, whereby the Brotherhood hopes to work with similarly motivated Muslims to infiltrate and scuttle Western civilization - "sabotaging its miserable house from within" - with the goal of placing it under the yoke of a global Islamic theocracy, the caliphate.

They call the means whereby this might come about a, "Civilization-Jihadist Process," directly mirroring the strategy for Islamic Revolution outlined in the above referenced FBI document.

Of note, at the conclusion of this draft, there's a list of organizations which the Ikhwan is counting on as "friends" to help it overthrow the secular governments of the West and establish Shari'a compliant states. That list includes numerous American Muslim organizations including the International Institute for Islamic Thought.

Had George Mason U been less in a frenzy to accept the radical Muslim cash without question, it could have become aware of the Islamist MO in such matters, pumping money into U.S. universities, hoping to gain influence and prestige there. A study commissioned by the U.S. Dept of Education, first referred to in depth publicly by National Review's excellent investigative reporter Stanley Kurtz [see, http://www.nationalreview.com/kurtz/allforeigngiftsreport.html] makes the phenomenon of academia's susceptibility to checkbook Islamism, apparent.

Recognition of this fact is what last year prompted, to their credit, Temple University to refuse to accept IIIT's similar grant offer.

George Mason University's decision in this controversy smacks of self-serving expediency trumping any reasonable oversight. The least damaging explanations are either simple malfeasance or more darkly, not wanting to know the truth. In that vein perhaps the "vetting" might have been deliberately contructed to establish a basis for plausible deniability if the deal turns sour. Regardless, this matter should serve as a warning of just how far this component of the stealth jihad has progressed and how difficult it will be to stop, given the apparent unlimited appetite of organizations which are willing to toss reason and moral judgment under the bus in pursuit of a tainted bottom line.

CAIR Sued At Own Banquet Celebrating Lawsuits

The RFDAH report on the 14th CAIR Banquet, Nov. 23, 2008.
Stay tuned will be doing a full show.
More to follow, lots to sift through.

Highlights:
CAIR was served with a lawsuit during the opening remarks. Lawsuit filed by former Muslims CAIR is alleged to have provided legal representation for. First of much video. This one from gatesofvienna.blogspot.com/

CAIR is bolstered by Obama Presidency, its lawsuit against Michael Savage, the Obsession Distro, Stop the Madrassa, and the Third Jihad.

Claims 95% of Muslims voted, 89% for Obama, 2% for McCain.

American Muslims have demonstrated that they can have an impact, and should strive for an even greater impact, specifically in Federal, State, and local elected officials and through public and private education institutions.

Congressman Ellison pointed out that the Local Park Board in his home town in Minn. runs daycare for large amounts of children. He then highlighted the possibility of how a Muslim member of that Park Board could shape those young lives.

Other themes:
Attaching CAIRs struggle to that of the civil rights struggle-MLK, Rosa Parks etc..
Nihad Awad calls for a Department of Peace

More to follow, is 1:30 a.m. and must catch some sleep.

There Will Be Blood

Can't get The Doors' The End, out of my head. I've said it on my show, on Pat Dollard's, NOVA will drive VA Blue. My loathsome predictions:
11th Congressional District: Connolly
Pres: Obama

Mark Warner will be the next Senator of Va, for a couple of reasons, he was an excellent Gov and he's not a liberal ideologue. For NOVA he delivered a revamped Mixing Bowl (395-95-495 interchange) and the Wilson Bridge project. Am ok with Warner, just hate to see him as part of a Dem ticket.

Win or lose, their will be violence, it will be committed by the Left, as we've seen time and again, it is their primary form for discourse. Life will be very different for the next 12-20 years if Obama wins and we have a filibuster proof Congress. Buy your guns now, it won't belong before their redistributed into ploughshares

Obama's Hand Picked Communist Successor

Hat tip Beowolf and the good folks at The Jawa Report

October 10, 2008
Why Doesn't Obama Face More Questions About Alice Palmer?

Barack Obama was elected to the Illinois State Senate as the hand-picked successor to Sen. Alice Palmer.

Barack Obama, in other words, represented Palmer's best option for perpetuating her political philosophy via her state senate seat.

Given that Alice Palmer knew Barack Obama well and was one of his close political mentors in the Chicago political establishment, it is reasonable to presume that an inquiry into Alice Palmer's political philosophy would give us additional insight into Barack Obama's political philosophy.

As you may not be surprised to learn, Alice Palmer was well-known as a communist propagandist:

Lest you think Alice Palmer was visiting the Soviet Union to provide objective news coverage, I submit the following:

And no, you probably won't be hearing about this on the nightly news, either.

Connolly Provides Insults not Answers to ISA Questions

RFDAH exclusive:

Connolly Provides Insults not Answers to ISA Questions
October 1, 2008

Springfield, Virginia

11th Congressional Candidate Gerry Connolly spoke to the West Springfield Civic Association in the community room of the West Springfield Government Center in a Meet the Candidate forum. Civic Association members got to meet both Connolly’s, beauty and the beast. His answers to a majority of questions represented beauty in the abstract sense that one can appreciate the hollowness of a honed politician shucking and jiving around accountability for $430 million worth of public debt and a political party ducking their responsibility for Freddie and Fannie. However, when challenged on the Islamic Saudi Academy, Boss Connolly the Beast showed his true colors by insulting and bullying the inquiring civic association member. Afterwards, association members politely characterized his behavior as condescending and full of contempt.

At the outset of the meeting, Connolly lauded his 25 years of foreign policy experience, and commitment to assessable and accountable government. When questioned on accountability of the Islamic Saudi Academy, Connolly inspected his finger nails, and then perturbed, interrupted the question. Undeterred, the question of how he would hold the ISA accountable as a Congressman, was asked. Connolly responded not by answering, but instead by threatening “Are you a member of this civic association?” In the hour plus discussion, Connolly asked this for this verification from no one else.

Unable to escape on technicality or suppress the question, Connolly proceeded with insult and slander accusing the asker of “not doing their homework.” Connolly’s character assassination was rebuffed with citations of government reports, so he moved on to denying the issue by claiming it was a land use issue that the US State Department had to decide for local government. This answer stood in stark contrast to the terms of the Fairfax County’s lease with the ISA and Connolly’s own introductory comments lamenting Federal interference in local government.

Connolly’s next reaction was to levy another sneer of “why don’t you run for Congress.” The civic association member chided Connolly for his attempts to bully the question away, citing Connolly’s similar behavior during the ISA hearing on May 19, 2008. When questioned about the transparency of the County investigation of the issue, Connolly stated that he “did not support” Supervisor Hyland’s admittedly opaque investigation of the ISA. This is contradictory to Connolly’s testimony on May 19, 2008. Connolly concluded his answer before the association by citing that he wrote a letter to US Secretary of State Rice before Congressman Wolf did and that nothing more could be done.

Following the conclusion of the meeting, Connolly fresh from throwing his weight around, was challenged on his behavior. Here, he blamed the victim of his scorn for getting what he deserved for asking a confrontational question about accountability. Here, Boss Connolly the Beast, let his prospective constituent know exactly where he stood, beneath him. Connolly for Congress: above you, beyond reproach, your wrathful better.

Stripping for Allah

Now that's out, she'll be targeted for death. From Fox News. This is the kind of inter-faith dialogue I can behind.

Daughter of Radical Muslim Cleric Exposed as Pole Dancer

The 27-year-old daughter of radical Islamic cleric Omar Bakri Mohammed has admitted to pole dancing in London bars in defiance of her family's strict Muslim beliefs, the Daily Mail reported Friday.

Yasmin Fostok left Bakri’s home four years ago because she did not share her father’s opinions.

"I don't get on with my dad. I don't agree with his views,” Fostok told the Daily Mail. “I just get on with my life and that is it.”

She currently lives with her 3-year-old son in South East London, whom she had with her ex-husband after their arranged marriage.

Fostok performs a fire-eating routine and performs semi-naked inside cages.

“If this is true I am deeply shocked,” Bakri told the Mail from Lebanon, where he has lived since being exiled from England three years ago. “She was brought up properly in the Muslim faith but she is free to make her own choices in life. But I am still shocked.”

“If she has done these things she will be judged on Judgment Day. But God will forgive her anything except becoming a non-Muslim.”

Bakri sparked controversy when he praised the 9/11 terrorists and said he would “never condemn Usama bin Laden or any Muslims.”

Pres. Debate

First and foremost, it is clear, no one has any idea what to do with this economic crisis. McCain and Obama both punted that issue.

Secondly, we are in dire straights because we sound like a comic book: League of Democracies, Axis of Evil, competing bracelets, "loose" nukes.

Obama is running out of words to parse.

Jim Lehrer looks confused, always.

Lamest term: pre-conditions, sorry, can't help but think I was listening to a shampoo commercial.

Two best moments:
1) Diplomatic discussions are not the same as campaign rhetoric.
Bash at patdollard.com caught this great moment of McCain schooling Obama:
http://patdollard.com/2008/09/the-best-38-seconds-of-the-debate/

2) Obama, the prick who made his presidential seal. My other favorite dig was McCain jibbed at Obama "I don't even my own presidential seal."

Pay Your Jizya Infidels

More good stuff from Islam in Action.

I believe smug is the most appropriate adjective to describe this Muslim convert, only it doesn't capture the sinister nature or ideology driving it. For a fun mental exercise, replace Islam with any other religion in the following article and draw your conclusions...Christians demand tax from Hindis, Hindis demand tax from Buddhists, Jews demand tax from Agnositcs...

I was just reading an article online at www.StarNewsOnline.com, a publication from North Carolina. The article was speaking about a new Mosque that has opened called the The Islamic Learning Center, located at 2117 Wrightsville Ave N.C., (910) 343-1919. The spokesperson for the Mosque, a Ms. Susan Ellenberg said in the article that in the Middle East there are Mosques on every corner. I then preceded to call her and speak to her about this matter. "I asked her if that was her intention, to get a Mosque on every corner and asked if she was a convert", she answered "no" to the Mosque part and "yes" to being a convert. I responded with "so you are ok being part of a religion that calls for my extortion and extortion of all non-Muslims as stated in Surah 9 29"? Otherwise called jizya. She paused and said "yes". I thought to myself, let me make sure I got this straight and asked "so you think Muslims are superior and non-Muslims should pay you". She again said "yes". I told her "thanks for exposing who you are and to move the Middle East, where she belongs", then I hung up. This is what we are dealing with folks, our enemy is in our backyard, all because our government does not have the guts to deal with it.

Here are three translations of Sura 9 29. The meaning is very clear.

009.029
YUSUFALI: Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
PICKTHAL: Fight against such of those who have been given the Scripture as believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, and forbid not that which Allah hath forbidden by His messenger, and follow not the Religion of Truth, until they pay the tribute readily, being brought low.
SHAKIR: Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Messenger have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection.

New mosque offers convenient location as center for faith

By Amanda Greene
Staff Writer

Published: Friday, August 1, 2008 at 9:30 a.m.

On a recent Friday, a man sang a call to prayers in Arabic over an intercom system in a two-story white house off Wrightsville Avenue. In an upstairs room, a group of five women stood facing Mecca, their heads wrapped in chiffon scarves.

About 15 men prayed in a room downstairs near the elder brother, a Muslim male who led the service.

It was the Friday lunchtime holy service of the new mosque in town, The Islamic Learning Center, located at 2117 Wrightsville Ave. The mosque is nestled in a small business district that includes a doggy day care, a gallery and automotive shops. Wilmington has two other mosques, Tauheed Islamic Center on Castle Street and The Islamic Center of Wilmington in Myrtle Grove.

"Foot-to-foot; shoulder-to-shoulder. Fill in the gaps," one woman coached.

The mosque formed about six months ago and now has about 75 members. Though prayers are in both Arabic and English, the sermons are in English. The mosque is still searching for an imam or spiritual leader.

"We wanted to have a more central location because it was hard for the men who work to get all the way to Myrtle Grove on Fridays to come to prayers on their lunch breaks," said Susan Ellenberg, a spokeswoman for the mosque who moved here from Michigan.

With a growing library of materials on Islam, she said the mosque's main purpose is to educate the public and fellow Muslims about Islam.

"When you go to the Middle East, there's a mosque on every corner. Our mosques in America need to be more of a civic center where Muslims can practice and incorporate their family life here," Ellenberg added. "We want people to call and ask us to come speak at their organization about Islam."

In September, the Islamic Learning Center will add to its educational focus with a new Islamic school. The school will teach the Koran, Arabic and basic Islamic studies like prayer, Islamic history, manners, and arts and crafts several days a week.

"We have a large teen population, and they need leadership and guidance, making it religious, fun, and so they can bond with other Muslims," she added. "Because there are not a lot of Muslims in the school system, they feel like the minority, so we wanted them to have a place where they could be together."

During the sermon, the women sat against the wall on the carpeted floor. Some stayed downstairs during part of the sermon, making lunch for the mosque members. Lunch is served each Friday after services.

The service leader, Khalil Moya, spoke about the importance of seeking knowledge in Islam.

"Islam is a blessing and a mercy from Allah. We are chosen to be Muslims," Moya said. "We can't be bare minimum Muslims. ... For those who believe, Allah will never make your good deeds go lost."

Then at the end of the service, Moya announced a very special event for that Friday - a man had decided to convert to Islam.

Upstairs, the women covered their mouths, tears coming to their eyes.

"Praise, Allah. Oh, praise him," said Ismalia Abdul Ghani, a sister and one of the center's founders. "The ladies are really excited about this because we're all converts."

They listened intently to the speaker as he asked the man questions of his devotion to Allah. He whispered yes to all. Then the men surrounded him, asking him to pray for them, "because he's really close to God right now," Ellenberg said.

"He's starting a whole new life like a newborn child because he's worshipping one God," she added. "People don't realize that Islam is not a closed religion. It's a way of life."

Islam Respects Child Brides

From Fox News...can't quite reconcile the message of "Islam respects women" with this story from a country that is an Islamic State. Might I add, her marriage at age 9 is simply in keeping with the recommendation offered by Saudi Arabia.

A 17-year-old Pakistani girl forced to marry a 45-year-old when she was only nine was reportedly killed by her parents, according to the Weekend Australian.

The murder has intensified despair among human rights workers in Pakistan over a recent spate of "honor killings," in which two women and three teenage school girls were buried alive in Baluchistan Province because they wanted to marry the men of their choice.

Saira Nusrat Bibi was successfully fighting a legal battle to have her marriage annulled. As she left court in the Punjabi city of Sahiwal, she was surrounded by a group of men reportedly sent by her parents, and shot in front of police, The Australian reported.

The Baluchistan case was worsened by an attempt by a member of the country's national parliament, Senator Israr Ullah Zehri, to defend it, telling colleagues that "these are centuries-old traditions and I will continue to defend them,” The Australian reports.

Drowning in Appeasement

Sooo, for those thinking that Islam is not a monolith, I submit the following, and remind you, as goes Europe, so goes the US.

From Chris Logan here
who pulled it from here
sounds very similar to the Harvard nonsense here

Keep up the good work Islam in Action and Islam in Europe

Hopefully this debate will put an end to the gender segregated gym and swim classes there, that were put into place to appease Muslims. Because if this type of catering does not end, eventually Muslims will be asking for all classes to be gender segregated. When they are done restructuring the schools their next target will be to stop allowing men and women being together in public, unless they are family. The people who are constantly catering to Muslims, need to think past the day they are in and think long term here.

Oslo: Debate about segregated swimming classes

Among the various opinions in this article not one considers that maybe Muslim parents might also want their kids to get a 'normal' Norwegian education.

Out of consideration of Muslim students, boys and girls at the Møllergata school in Oslo have segregated gym and swimming classes, and the swimming teachers must be of the 'right' gender.

Eva Kjøge, the school's principal, told Norwegian news agency NTB, that due to the immigration to the city there were problems with Muslim girls who weren't permitted to take physical education or swimming classes together with boys. The school had to therefore find arrangements.

She herself is newly employed at the school and hasn't yet taken a position on whether the years-long practice will continue. She says that the arrangement was started more than ten years ago. She started working at the school in August and wants to see how it functions before eventually making changes. This is an issue that is also important to discuss with the parents.

Kjøge points out however that the requirement to adapt education is a superior principle in Norwegian schools and that the division of sexes only applies to a few classes.

The education department in Oslo doesn't know the extent of sexual segregation in elementary schools. Astrid Søgnen, the education director in Oslo, says that such things don't happen to a high extent and that this conflicts with the education law. Though she also points to the student's right to adapt education.

She says that she has problems that the Møllergata school is doing such a offence. The arrangement was worked out together with the parents and is a result of a long tradition. The school thinks the solution works good, and that it's most important that the students learn to swim.

Does she understand parents who might react to preventing their children from having mixed education in gym and swimming out of religious consideration that only a minority require?

She does and she guarantees that the school will make an effort to find an alternative solution, if there will be such a requirement from the parents.

She points out that 38% of the students in Oslo's elementary schools have a multicultural background and says that the problems connected to sex and physical education are solved differently in different schools.

State Secretary Lisbet Rugtvedt of the Socialist Left Party (SV) says that swimming is one of the exceptions where students can be segregated by sex, out of respect for the minority and the right of religious expression.

Anders Anundsen of the Progress Party disagrees, despite that the party principally supports segregation by sex for pedagogical reasons. Anundsen says that a school class shouldn't be segregated due to religious convictions. It conflicts with how they see schools in Norway. Besides offering swimming education, the students are schooled in social abilities. He doesn't like it, he says.

The Equality and Anti-Discrimination Ombud is skeptical about the division of classes by gender. Bjørg Unstad says that gender is normally far too coarse a category by which to divide people. The starting point must be equal education, but if it's based on pedagogical considerations, gender segregation might be appropriate. She stresses that it's important that everybody is offered good swimming education and points to the many drowning accidents in Oslo this summer.

But there are several conceivable ways to this, she says. Swimsuits that completely cover the body can be a solution. According to Unstad it's important to also listen to the students who are not religious. It's unfortunate if segregation of the sexes causes a disproportionally large burden for the rest of the students.

Loveleen Rihel Brenna of the Parent's committee for elementary schools says that problem isn't unknown. They have gotten several reports from schools who segregate by sex out of consideration for the girls. Their experience is that boys take up a lot of room in classes such as physical education and swimming and that this makes it hard for the girls to develop themselves.

Brenna thinks the law is open for segregation in a few classes, but assumes that it happens through close cooperation with the parents. At the same time, she understands that the education law gives room for different interpretations, and that maybe the law or the regulations should be made clearer.

Islamist Note at 9-11 Memorial in NoVa

A Note On Islamist Tolerance
Click on link to see pictures.

ACT for America! in NOVA alerted me to the following post from blueweeds.typepad.com.

That such a note was left at 9-11 memorial should not be a surprise given that the Dar al Hijrah Mosque down the road in Falls Church was the last place of spiritual comfort visited by one of the 9-11 hijackers, was religious guidance for a convicted terrorist and Islamic Saudi Academy Alumni, had a prominent leader removed from a Governor’s task force after a video of his Islamist beliefs surfaced, and the list goes on and on…

Couple more enlightening articles about Dar al Hirjrah here.

Bottom line, Islamic tolerance exists, but only when it in a one-sided dominating manner…expect worse to come. Many will think this is just an opinionated view, fine, so if you doubt me, please feel to ask a Copt in Egypt or a priest or rabbi in Mecca or Tehran.
Note Left At Falls Church 9/11 Memorial Calls For Removal Of Public Art

An anonymous note has been left at the base of The Dust Cries Out, a statue done by artist Karen Swenholt commemorating the victims of the terrorist attacks on 9/11, which calls for the removal of the recently erected public art.

The note asks for the statue to be removed because it is “… just a remembrance of the daily injustice inflicted to every follower over the sees murdered by the United States every day …” [sic].

The statue was placed a few weeks ago on Great Falls Street in Falls Church as part of the City’s honoring the seventh anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Falls Church City is just four miles from the Pentagon and its fire department was among the first responders at the Pentagon attack.

The unsigned note appears to have been produced on a word processor, is typed in blocked letters, and is written in broken English syntax. There is no information on who may have authored the note or why it was left at the site.

The content of the note is a bit shocking, but our City has a long and bitter history of unsigned notes and lit drops appearing around town to inflame citizen passions on political issues.

Fimian Supports American Enterprise

Just got back from hearing 11th Congressional District Rep. Candidate Keith Fimian speak. Overall, Mr. Fimian, as a successful entrepreneur, believes in American Enterprise and will work to promote the liberty and opportunity our free market system provides. This will be accomplished by removing government impediments to growth, particularly in the technology and energy sectors. Those impediments include, bloated government and government spending, staggering national debt, and taxes and trade agreements that unduly burden the most important and most innovative companies in America, the small businesses. Strengthening the American economy and restoring our global lead in technology and energy is integral to Fimian's national security strategy. A strategy that focuses on not only removing our dependence of foreign energy, but an ability confront terrorists, and their murderous Islamist ideology. Mr. Fimian is man who weathered the pains of starting up a business and came out on top. Keen fiscal discipline and fortitude of moral resolve guide his decision making.

Fimian is an accountant by education and successful entrepreneur. Comparison: Fimian built a business from the ground up and made it profitable. Connolly: Took over a well managed County and led it to a $430 million deficit. With our national debt standing at $455,000 per household and growing, we need government servants who understand deficit=failure.

Fimian on taxes: Kennedy and Reagan both demonstrated tax breaks stimulate growth and actually provide the more revenue.

Fimian on BRAC: Federal impact deserves Federal impact funds.

Fimian on Energy: Drill, clean coal, nuke, solar, wind, and provide incentives for business innovations that develop alternative energy. He believes that if China and Nigeria are drilling in the Gulf of Mexico we should be too, and we shouldn't stop there. We should be the global leaders in development of alternative energy thereby solving our energy problems and creating the ability to export alternative energy.

Fimian on Immigration: High Wall, Wide Gate.

Fimian on National Security: Secure southern border, confront Islamist ideology and their State sponsors. Gerry Connolly in contrast, doesn't see fit to close the Islamic Saudi Academy that has produced a convicted terrorist and preaches the murder of infidels. See here and here for a dramatic display of contempt from Gerry Connolly. In keeping with Connolly's arrogance, he didn't even have the courtesy to debate Fimian recently, instead sending his campaign manager because "he was too busy overseeing the best managed County in the US." This highlights one of Fimian's virtues, he has real world experience that allows him to know that a $430 million deficit is not successful management. Apparently, Connolly is just too busy to be bothered with facts.

Peaceful Muslims Mutilate Defenseless Women to Save Honor

Next time anyone doubts the type of barbarism that exists in the world, show them these faces. Whether its 100% Islam driven or culture driven, I don't care, where Islam and Islamist cultures meet you get this...yet one more reason we should stop all visas from these countries...unless of course they are for women and children just trying to live a life free from acid attacks.

AP on Fox

LAHORE, Pakistan —

Saira Liaqat squints through her one good eye as she brushes a woman's hair. Her face, most of which the acid melted years ago, occasionally lights up with a smile. Her hands, largely undamaged, deftly handle the dark brown locks.

A few steps away in this popular beauty salon, Urooj Akbar diligently trims, cleans and paints clients' fingernails. Her face, severely scarred from the blaze that burned some 70 percent of her body, is somber. It's hard to tell if she's sad or if it's just the way she now looks.

Liaqat and Akbar are among Pakistan's many female victims of arson and acid attacks. Such tales tend to involve a spurned or crazy lover and end in a life of despair and seclusion for the woman.

The two instead became beauticians.

Click here to view photos from this story. Warning: Graphic content.

The women can't escape the mirrors or pictures of glamorous models that surround them, but they consider the salon a second home and a good way to make a living. The two also serve as reminders of that age-old lesson on beauty — a lesson that, needed or not, they learned the hard way.

"Every person wishes that he or she is beautiful," says Liaqat, 21. "But in my view, your face is not everything. Real beauty lies inside a person, not outside."
"They do it because the world demands it," Akbar, 28, says of clients. "For them, it's a necessity. For me, it isn't."

Liaqat and Akbar got into the beauty business in the eastern city of Lahore thanks to the Depilex Smileagain Foundation, an organization devoted to aiding women who have been burned in acid or other attacks.

About five years ago, Masarrat Misbah, head of Pakistan's well-known Depilex salon chain, was leaving work when a veiled woman approached and asked for her help. She was insistent, and soon, a flustered Misbah saw why.

When she removed her veil, Misbah felt faint. "I saw a girl who had no face."
The woman said her husband had thrown acid on her.
Misbah decided to place a small newspaper ad to see if others needed similar assistance. Forty-two women and girls responded.

Misbah got in touch with Smileagain, an Italian nonprofit that has provided medical services to burn victims in other countries. She sought the help of Pakistani doctors. Perhaps the biggest challenge has been raising money for the cause, in particular to build a special hospital and refuge for burn victims in Pakistan.
Her organization has some 240 registered victims on its help list, 83 of whom are at various stages of treatment.

The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan found that in 2007, at least 33 women were burned in acid attacks, and 45 were set on fire. But the statistics are likely an undercount, as many cases go unreported for various reasons including out of fear of their attackers, or because the victims can't afford the legal bills.
The victims Misbah has helped need, on average, 25 to 30 surgical procedures over several years, but she soon realized that wasn't enough. Some, especially those who were outcasts in their families, had to be able to support themselves.
To her surprise, several told her they wanted to be beauticians.
"And I felt so sad," Misbah says. "Because beauty is all about faces and beautiful girls and skin."

She helped arrange for 10 women to train in a beauty course in Italy last year. Some have difficulty because their vision is weak or their hands too burned for intricate work. But several, including Liaqat and Akbar, are making their way in the field.
The salon in Lahore is not the usual beauty parlor. There are pictures of beautiful women on the walls — all made up, with perfect, gleaming hair. But then there's a giant poster of a girl with half her face destroyed.
"HELP US bring back a smile to the face of these survivors," it says.

Working for the salon is a dream come true for Liaqat, whose mischievous smile is still intact and frequently on display. As a child she was obsessed with beauty. Once she burned some of her sister's hair off with a makeshift curling iron. She still wears lipstick.

Akbar, the more reserved one, also carries out many administrative and other tasks for the foundation. One of her duties is collecting newspaper clippings about acid and burn attacks on women. Both say they are treated well by clients and colleagues, but Misbah says some clients have complained.

"They say that when we come to a beauty salon, we come with the expectation that we're going to be relaxed, in a different frame of mind," Misbah says. "If we come here and we see someone who has gone through so much pain and misery, so automatically that gives us that low feeling also. They have a point.
"At the same time, there are clients who take pride in asking these girls to give them a blow-dry, or getting a manicure or pedicure taken from them."
Sometimes they ask what happened.

According to Liaqat and a lawyer for her case, she was married in her teens, on paper, to a relative, but the families had agreed she wouldn't live with him until she finished school. Within months, though, the man started demanding she join him.
One day at the end of July 2003, he showed up at their house with a package. He asked her to get him some water. He followed her to the kitchen, and as she turned around with the water, she says, he doused her with the acid. It seared much of her face, blinded her right eye, and seriously weakened her left one.

Liaqat shakes her head when recalling how a few days before the incident she found a small pimple on her face and threw a fit. After she was burned, her parents at first wouldn't let their daughter look at a mirror. But eventually she saw herself, and she's proud to say she didn't cry.

"Once we had a wedding in the family. I went there and all the girls were getting dressed and putting on makeup. So that time, I felt a pain in my heart," she says. "But I don't want to weaken myself with these thoughts."

Her husband is in prison as the attempted murder case against him proceeds. The two are still legally married.

Akbar says she found herself in an arranged marriage by age 22. Her husband grew increasingly possessive and abusive, she says. The two had a child.

About three years ago, Akbar says, he sprinkled kerosene oil on her as she slept and lit it. A picture taken shortly afterward shows how her face melted onto her shoulders, leaving her with no visible neck.

Akbar has not filed a case against her now ex-husband. She says she'll one day turn to the law, at least to get her daughter back.
Both women were reluctant for The Associated Press to contact their alleged attackers.

Liaqat and Akbar have undergone several surgeries and expect to face more. They say Misbah's foundation was critical to their present well-being. "Mentally, I am at peace with myself," Akbar says. "The peace of mind I have now, I never had before. I suffered much more mental anguish in my married life." Bushra Tareen, a regular client of Liaqat's, praises her work. "I feel that her hands call me again and again," Tareen says. She adds that Liaqat and Akbar remind her of the injustices women face, and their ability to rise above them.

"When I see them, I want to be like them — strong girls," she says. Liaqat is grateful for having achieved her goal of being a beautician. She worries about her eyesight but is determined to succeed. "I want to make a name for myself in this profession," she says. Akbar plans to use her income one day to support her little girl, whom she has barely seen since the attack. "I'm independent now, I stand on my own two feet," she says. "I have a job, I work, I earn. In fact, I'm living on my own ... which isn't an easy thing to do for a woman in Pakistan, for a lone woman to survive."

Islamist Found Dead with Chemical Weapons near DNC

Big red flags:
1) Somali
2) 1lbs of Sodium Cyanide
3) Near elected officials
4) Called for the death of Christians

Got to LOL at the blatant excuse for mental health...sounds familiar to the defense of the Islamist who dutifully planned and attacked a Seattle Jewish Charity.

Also, ask any Ethiopian how they feel about Somalis. Wonder if prior to OD'ing on cyanide he had petitioned his employeer for Eid off too?, or had refused to transport dogs and alcohol?

Police: Pound Of Cyanide Found In Denver Hotel
Canadian Man Had Been Dead For Days Inside Burnsley
POSTED: 11:11 am MDT August 13, 2008
UPDATED: 10:16 am MDT August 14, 2008

DENVER -- Police confirmed Wednesday that they found about a pound of sodium cyanide in a Denver hotel room where the body of a Canadian man was discovered earlier this week.

Police spokesman John White identified the white powder as sodium cyanide, the crystal form of cyanide. Fire officials say they found a bottle containing about a pound of the white powder, or between a pint and a quart by volume.

An expert told the Denver Post that the amount of cyanide is enough to kill hundreds of people.

The medical examiner's office said it is awaiting test results to determine whether cyanide killed 29-year-old Saleman Abdirahman Dirie, of Ottawa, Canada.

His body was found Monday inside Room 408 at The Burnsley Hotel, which is about four blocks from the state Capitol. White said Dirie had been dead for several days. Friends told The Ottawa Sun that he was dead six days before he was discovered.
Foul play is not suspected and his death appears to be an isolated incident, White said. Dirie's sister told CanWest News Service that her brother had been on medication for the past three years to treat his schizophrenia, but that he was not a terrorist.

The FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force is assisting in the investigation but FBI spokeswoman Kathy Wright said the incident has no apparent connection to terrorism.
"You have a suspicious substance that was found in a hotel room in conjunction with person being a foreign national, and we have a lot of questions and that is why we are assisting," Wright told the Post.

An online threat posted in July by a man with a similar name warned of death. The blog discussed the killing of Christians in Somalia by Islamists. The person who posted on the blog appeared to condemn Christians. "Having the bible in one hand, and a bread in the other hand, is not a correct thing! Kill Them , Kill them, Kill them, that is my massage (sic),!" read the posting by Abdirahman Dirie on the 'Solmali's for Jesus' Blog. It was not clear if Abdirahman Dirie and Saleman Abdirahman Dirie are the same person.

On Tuesday, firefighters and hazmat crews joined the FBI at the hotel, where they cordoned off the neighborhood surrounding the hotel for a second time, and used the case as a "training exercise" in preparation to the Democratic National Convention.
The upscale Burnsley Hotel is about two miles away from the Pepsi Center, where the DNC will be held from Aug. 25-Aug. 27. However, it is not on the list of hotels where delegates are staying. The last day of the DNC will be held at Invesco Field at Mile High, which is three miles away from the hotel.

Medical examiners had reported a bitter, almond-like smell from Dirie's body after it arrived at the morgue, indicating the possibility of cyanide poisoning. Authorities have not listed Dirie's occupation or said why he may have had cyanide. White said sodium cyanide is readily available in stores and is the main ingredient in rat poison.

The FBI is also looking into why Dirie was in Denver, how he got here and when he arrived in the United States. According to the Ottawa Sun, Dirie immigrated to Ottawa years ago and was a member of the city's Somali community. Dirie's father, Abdirahman, who also lives in Ottawa, traveled to Denver when he received the news of the death, said Addirizuk Karod, manager of the Somali Centre for Family Services in Ottawa.

The four people who had initially touched the man were decontaminated as a precaution. Five occupied rooms on the fourth floor were evacuated and patrons moved to another floor.

The Refined Left...

Yeah..., not even sure where to begin with this one...
Cursing, shouting, mooning...but always remember, the Left cares and is therefore your superior.

In case the video doesn't play, click here.

Video of Fort Hays State Debate Coach Bill Shanahan in the heated debate.
The video prompted a campus wide investigation.

Part of it involves Professor Bill Shanahan mooning the woman he's arguing with.

But all of the video has Shanahan screaming at a debate judge after a debate on race.

The exchange happened back in March at the National Quarter Finals of the Cross Examination De More..bate Association.

Last week, the video was released on the internet.
"Bill is a non-conformist, he's a maverick, he's a very provocative teacher," said Fort Hays Provost Larry Gould.
He said he's known Shanahan for 15 years, and he explained what he believes happened.

"What seems to be the provacateur for all of this," he said Monday afternoon, "is the idea that debaters are allowed to strike two judges, and in this case, there were 5 judges, and the Fort Hays State University team struck two judges who had given them low scores in the past.
One of them happened to be a black female, and that set the thing off."

The nearly 9 minute diatribe is prompting a campus investigation. "And we're sure that there's probably some facts and information that's just not available," said Gould. "I mean, you see a lot on the video, but we need to make sure everything is revealed before we take any action."

At this point, there's no word on what kind of reprimand - if any - Shanahan faces.

But another professor caught on tape at the debate wanted to make sure students who saw the exchange got a message.

Debates on touchy subjects like race can offend people. Said ML Sandoz of Vanderbilt University: "I wish everyone would recognize the importance of these issues and stop to think about the consequences they're having on real people."

We could not reach Shanahan at home or at work for a comment.

Anything named the Fairness Doctrine should be burned immediately and its supporters taken for immediate re-education or deportation. In America we have the freedom to compete, that's it. FCC Commissioner: Return of Fairness Doctrine Could Control Web Content
McDowell warns reinstated powers could play in net neutrality debate, lead to government requiring balance on Web sites.

There’s a huge concern among conservative talk radio hosts that reinstatement of the Fairness Doctrine would all-but destroy the industry due to equal time constraints. But speech limits might not stop at radio. They could even be extended to include the Internet and “government dictating content policy.”

FCC Commissioner Robert McDowell raised that as a possibility after talking with bloggers at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C. McDowell spoke about a recent FCC vote to bar Comcast from engaging in certain Internet practices – expanding the federal agency’s oversight of Internet networks.

The commissioner, a 2006 President Bush appointee, told the Business & Media Institute the Fairness Doctrine could be intertwined with the net neutrality battle. The result might end with the government regulating content on the Web, he warned. McDowell, who was against reprimanding Comcast, said the net neutrality effort could win the support of “a few isolated conservatives” who may not fully realize the long-term effects of government regulation.

“I think the fear is that somehow large corporations will censor their content, their points of view, right,” McDowell said. “I think the bigger concern for them should be if you have government dictating content policy, which by the way would have a big First Amendment problem.”

“Then, whoever is in charge of government is going to determine what is fair, under a so-called ‘Fairness Doctrine,’ which won’t be called that – it’ll be called something else,” McDowell said. “So, will Web sites, will bloggers have to give equal time or equal space on their Web site to opposing views rather than letting the marketplace of ideas determine that?”

McDowell told BMI the Fairness Doctrine isn’t currently on the FCC’s radar. But a new administration and Congress elected in 2008 might renew Fairness Doctrine efforts, but under another name.

“The Fairness Doctrine has not been raised at the FCC, but the importance of this election is in part – has something to do with that,” McDowell said. “So you know, this election, if it goes one way, we could see a re-imposition of the Fairness Doctrine. There is a discussion of it in Congress. I think it won’t be called the Fairness Doctrine by folks who are promoting it. I think it will be called something else and I think it’ll be intertwined into the net neutrality debate.”

A recent study by the Media Research Center’s Culture & Media Institute argues that the three main points in support of the Fairness Doctrine – scarcity of the media, corporate censorship of liberal viewpoints, and public interest – are myths.

Obama's Muslim-Outreach Adviser Resigns
By GLENN R. SIMPSON and AMY CHOZICK
August 6, 2008; Page A4

The Muslim-outreach coordinator to the presidential campaign of Barack Obama has resigned amid questions about his involvement in an Islamic investment fund and various Islamic groups.

Chicago lawyer Mazen Asbahi, who was appointed volunteer national coordinator for Muslim American affairs by the Obama campaign on July 26, stepped down Monday after an Internet newsletter wrote about his brief stint on the fund's board, which also included a fundamentalist imam.

"Mr. Asbahi has informed the campaign that he no longer wishes to serve in his volunteer position, and we are in the process of searching for a new national Arab American and Muslim American outreach coordinator," spokesman Ben LaBolt said in a statement.

A corporate lawyer at the firm of Schiff Hardin LLP, Mr. Asbahi tendered his resignation after he and the Obama campaign received emailed inquiries about his background from The Wall Street Journal. He did not respond to the email or a message left at his law office; the campaign released a letter in which Mr. Asbahi said he did not want to be a distraction.

The Obama campaign is trying to strike a balance between courting Muslim American voters and dispelling rumors intended by some to link the candidate to radical Islam. Sen. Obama is a Christian.

Until Mr. Asbahi joined the campaign, Sen. Obama did not have a Muslim-outreach coordinator and had relied on the Democratic National Committee's efforts. The campaign has long had its own outreach efforts to Catholic, evangelical Christian and Jewish voters. Some Muslim voters have complained about the disparity. An Obama aide says Mr. Asbahi was brought on in part to bridge that perceived gap and to reach out to Muslim communities in Florida, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia, states seen as among the most competitive this fall.

"We need Muslim Americans to get excited about the Campaign, and there's a lot to get excited about!" Mr. Asbahi wrote in a statement posted on a blog when he was appointed. "Sure, there have been mis-steps," he added.

In 2000, Mr. Asbahi briefly served on the board of Allied Assets Advisors Fund, a Delaware-registered trust. Its other board members at the time included Jamal Said, the imam at a fundamentalist-controlled mosque in Illinois.

"I served on that board for only a few weeks before resigning as soon as I became aware of public allegations against another member of the board," Mr. Asbahi said in his resignation letter. "Since concerns have been raised about that brief time, I am stepping down...to avoid distracting from Barack Obama's message of change."
The eight-year-old connection between Mr. Asbahi and Mr. Said was raised last week by the Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Report, which is published by a Washington think tank and chronicles the activities of the Muslim Brotherhood, a world-wide fundamentalist group based in Egypt. Other Web sites, some pro-Republican and others critical of fundamentalist Islam, also have reported on the background of Mr. Asbahi. He is a frequent speaker before several groups in the U.S. that scholars have associated with the Muslim Brotherhood.

The Justice Department named Mr. Said an unindicted co-conspirator in the
racketeering trial last year of several alleged Hamas fund-raisers, which ended in a mistrial. He has also been identified as a leading member of the group in news reports going back to 1993.

Mr. Said is the imam at the Bridgeview Mosque in Bridge-view, Ill., outside Chicago. He left the board of the Islamic fund in 2005, Securities and Exchange Commission filings state. A message left for Mr. Said at the mosque was not returned.
Allied Asset Advisors is a subsidiary of the North American Islamic Trust. The trust, which is supported financially by the government of Saudi Arabia, holds title to many mosques in the U.S. and promotes a conservative brand of Islam compatible with the ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood and also akin to the fundamentalist style predominant in Saudi Arabia. Allied executives did not respond to inquiries.

Illegal Given Sanctuary Kills Father and Sons Driving Home From Picnic

Give'em hell: San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom: 415-554-7111.

There is a reason you defend your borders, and it is in the story that follows.

When government fails to sufficiently honor its obligations to laws created by duly elected representatives of the people, it violates its contract with the people, a people born with God-given sovereignty who voluntarily release portions of this Divine freedom to the government. Widow Wants San Francisco Sanctuary Law Changed After Illegal Charged With Murder
Monday , July 21, 2008

A San Francisco woman whose husband and two sons were gunned down last month — allegedly by an illegal immigrant who remained in the city despite previous crimes — is demanding the city do something about its sanctuary law.

Danielle Bologna was widowed on June 22 when Edwin Ramos, 21, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, allegedly gunned down her husband, Anthony, and two sons, Matthew and Michael, in a road rage incident when her family was returning from a picnic.
Ramos has been charged with three counts of murder in the case, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

"It was a senseless crime, and had they done something this animal would not have taken my family," Bologna told FOX News on Monday. "I feel that the government should have stepped in. I feel that they allow these immigrants to come in and how dare they strip our families like this."

The Chronicle reported that Ramos was convicted of two gang-related felonies while a juvenile and remained in San Francisco because the Juvenile Probation Department did not alert federal authorities. San Francisco's 1989 "City of Refuge" ordinance prohibits city agencies from contacting the feds on immigration matters.

The newspaper also found that federal officials knew about Ramos' immigration status in March when he was arrested on a gun charge, though they couldn't tell the Chronicle why they didn't put an immigration hold on Ramos.
Bologna blames the city.

"It should have been resolved at the beginning, when this guy had done more than one crime in the city," she told FOX News. "I want justice. I want the people to see: If my family wasn’t safe, what makes you think yours will be?"

Tyson's Obeys their Islamic Overlords

A harbinger of things to come. This is what happens when you have a muslim majority. Same as the taxi cab drivers that refuse to transport customers with booze or helper dogs. This is only the tip of the iceberg. You give an inch, they take a mile. Action steps:
1) Crack down on polygamy
2) Crack down on illegal immigration
3) Stop letting them into the country...for any reasons.
4) Boycott Tysons.

Key item in this story, that plant offers no prayer room for any other religion, just Islam...now they're replacing a US secular holiday with a Muslim religious one...they will only demand more.

Plant Drops Labor Day For Muslim Holiday
More Than Half Of Tyson Plant's Workforce Muslim

POSTED: 12:18 pm CDT August 1, 2008
UPDATED: 3:06 am CDT August 2, 2008

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. -- Some workers at a local plant will no longer to be able to take their Labor Day holiday because of religious reasons.

Workers at the Tyson Foods poultry processing plant in Shelbyville will no longer have a paid day off on Labor Day but will instead be granted the Muslim holiday Eid al-Fitr.
According to a news release from the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union, a new five-year contract at the plant included the change to accommodate Muslim workers at the plant.

Tyson's director of media relations Gary Mickelson said the contract includes eight paid holidays -- the same number as the old contract.
Eid al-Fitr -- which falls on Oct. 1 this year -- marks the end of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting.

Union leaders said implementing the holiday was important for the nearly 700 Muslims, many of them Somalis, who work at the plant that employs a total of 1,200 people.
Nineteen-year plant veteran William Pentecost doesn’t agree with the decision.
"I don’t think it's right. I really don't think it's right," he said.

Tyson company spokeswoman Libby Lawson said by phone that, "This isn't a religious accommodation, this is a contractual agreement. The majority asked for it."
The change didn’t bother some workers.

"I think it's fine. I don’t have any problem with it. There's a whole bunch of them here, so they've got to do something for them," said worker John Smith.
"It shouldn't happen. I mean, I think, we're in America, you're in America, I think that they should go with our holidays," Pentecost said.

Channel 4's Cynthia Williams could not reach any of the plant’s Muslim workers, because Channel 4 News' crew was not permitted on the property.
Former employee and Shelbyville resident Anthony Proctor said he thinks what's happening is wrong.

He said he helped build a special Muslim prayer room that's located inside the plant and that no other Tyson facility has been that accommodating for any other religion.
"If we want to go pray, we don’t have one for Christians," he said.

Lawson said they consider religious accommodations on a case-by-case basis. She said that so far, no one has asked for any other type of religious prayer room.

No one at the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union’s regional office answered phone calls placed by Williams on Friday.

A representative in New York said that no one there knew specifics about the new
contract with the workers, but a person in research told Williams that holidays aren't usually replaced and are more likely to be added on.

The decision will only apply to workers at the plant who are union members. All other employees at the plant will still have their normal Labor Day holiday.

Pakistani Woman Extradited to New York for Alleged Attack on U.S. Soldiers
Tuesday , August 05, 2008

NEW YORK —
An MIT-educated Pakistani woman once identified as a possible Al Qaeda associate has been brought to New York to face charges she tried to kill U.S. agents and military officers during an interrogation in Afghanistan, federal prosecutors said.
Aafia Siddiqui, who was shot and wounded last month during the confrontation, was expected to be arraigned Tuesday in federal court in Manhattan on charges of attempted murder and assault, U.S. Attorney Michael Garcia said in a statement. A lawyer for her family said the allegations are false.
Siddiqui, 36, was stopped by police on July 17 outside a government building in central Afghanistan's Ghazni province, according to a criminal complaint. Police searched her handbag and discovered documents containing recipes for explosives and chemical weapons and describing "various landmarks in the United States, including New York City," according to the complaint, which did not identify the landmarks.
Police also found maps of Ghazni on her, including the provincial governor's compounds and the mosques he prayed in, said governor spokesman Sayed Ismail Jahangir.
Siddiqui also was carrying "chemical substances in gel and liquid form that were sealed in bottles and glass jars," the complaint said. It did not elaborate. Jahangir said she was carrying "liquid poison."
The next day, as a team of FBI agents and U.S. military officers prepared to question her, Siddiqui grabbed a rifle, pointed it at an Army captain and yelled that she wanted blood, prosecutors said. An interpreter pushed the rifle aside as she fired two shots, which missed, they said. One of two shots fired by a soldier in response hit her in the torso.
Even after being hit, Siddiqui struggled and shouted in English "that she wanted to kill Americans" before the officers subdued her, the complaint said.
Authorities believe she entered the country from Pakistan, crossing the border at Chaman border post into the southern Kandahar province, he said. She spent two days in Kabul before going to Ghazni.
The family attorney, Elaine Whitfield Sharp, called the charges "a tall story."
Sharp disputed the U.S. government's earlier claims that Siddiqui had gone underground for several years before her capture. The family suspects that after she vanished with her three children while in Pakistan in 2003, she was secretly held and possibly tortured before U.S. authorities finally brought charges to justify her detention.
"I believe she's become a terrible embarrassment to them, but she's not a terrorist," Sharp said. "When the truth comes out, people will see she did nothing wrong."
At the time of the incident, Afghan officials gave conflicting accounts of what transpired between Siddiqui and the U.S. interrogators.
Gen. Khan Mohammad Mujahid, police chief in central Ghazni province, initially said police argued with the Americans over giving up custody of Siddiqui. But he later said there was no argument and that the woman lunged at one of the U.S. soldiers, drawing the gunshot.
U.S. military officials declined comment at the time.
On Tuesday, an Afghan official in Ghazni said the woman took the weapon while U.S. officials were arguing with Afghan security official over the custody rights. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak about the issue.
At a 2004 news conference, then-Attorney General John Ashcroft and FBI Director Robert Mueller III identified Siddiqui as one of seven people the FBI wanted to question about their suspected ties to Al Qaeda.
U.S. authorities said at the time that Siddiqui had received a biology degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and wrote a doctoral thesis on neurological sciences at Brandeis University, outside Boston, in 2001 before returning to Pakistan shortly after Sept. 11.
Though they never alleged she was a full-fledged member of Al Qaeda, authorities said they believed Siddiqui could be a "fixer," someone with knowledge of the United States who supported other operatives trying to slip into the country and plot attacks.
Siddiqui is charged with one count each of attempted murder and assault. If convicted, she faces up to 20 years in prison on each charge.

Excerpt: The Crescent Battlefield

An excerpt of something I'm working on.

Introduction

Since its inception 1400 years ago, Islam has waged a war for global domination that has left over 250 million dead, an amount equivalent to the entire American population during the 1990s. No major reformations have occurred within Islam to remove the divinely sanctioned obligations to subjugate the entirety of the non-muslim world. A thorough examination of the Islam’s source documents, historical legacy, and the seminal works of modern Islamic scholars reveals that the religion has no other principal objective than to follow Mohammed’s blood stained path to a jihad fulfilled. However, without a standing army capable of a physical global conquest, modern Islam wages its war via alternate means. They have examined their enemies’ weaknesses, shaped the battlefield accordingly, and enjoyed sustained campaign success. Their success is predominately owed to their prey’s fundamental failure to recognize that a war is even being fought. Modern Islam excels in the adroit implementation of Mohammed’s maxim, “war is deceit.”

Are Muslim Defendants Getting Special Treatment in Court?

July 16, 2008 - by Patrick Poole

An otherwise unremarkable hearing in the Fairfax County, Virginia, general district court last Thursday marked an ominous trend with respect to the cherished American judicial principles of the rule of law and equality before the law. The hearing on four misdemeanor charges against [1] Dr. Mustafa Ahmed Abbasi featured all of the usual players — judge, bailiff, clerks, prosecutors, police officers, criminal attorneys, and defendant — but with one notable addition to the judicial drama, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

CAIR’s intervention in the Abbasi case is a manifestation of a larger campaign against law enforcement to use political alliances and legal threats to intimidate police in cases involving Muslim defendants and to establish separate and preferable treatment for Muslims in the American legal system.

The circumstances concerning the charges against Dr. Abbasi are as unremarkable as last Thursday’s hearing. On February 9, Abassi committed an improper turn which prompted a traffic stop by Fairfax County police. After consent for a search of the vehicle was given, police discovered loose pills, needles, and prescriptions written to other individuals in the trunk of the car, violations of Virginia law. Dr. Abbasi admitted that he treated members of his mosque out of his vehicle, also a violation of Virginia medical rules (it should be noted that he is also a U.S. Customs and Immigration Service-[2] approved immigration doctor). Abbasi received a summons for unlawfully prescribing drugs and three others for possession of controlled substances, and was allowed to leave the scene on his own recognizance.

More than two months later, a letter was sent from CAIR national legal counsel Nadhira Al-Khalili to Colonel David Rohrer, chief of the Fairfax County Police Department, claiming that the traffic stop was made on the basis of profiling and that Dr. Abassi’s consent to the vehicle search was never given. She also claimed that Abbasi’s arrest was part of a pattern of “religious discrimination” by the department.

The CAIR letter made a series of demands, including an internal affairs investigation of the incident, a reprimand for the officer who made the stop, a written apology for Dr. Abbasi, a dash-cam video of the traffic stop, audio of the related police radio transmissions, and the institution of CAIR’s workplace sensitivity and diversity training for the entire Fairfax County Police.

An important fact to note is that CAIR’s narrative was derived entirely from Dr. Abbasi’s own self-serving account. Al-Khalili’s letter admitted that they had not even attempted to review any factual evidence that might exist in the case (dash-cam video and police radio transmissions), which could have been easily obtained through an open records request before making their accusations of religious discrimination. Before then, she had not asked for any evidence. It seems that CAIR’s demands were clearly aimed at having their “diversity” training instituted by the police department, as there was no indication that Al-Khalili was acting as counsel for Abbasi (she did not appear at last week’s hearing), but was rather acting in CAIR’s own organizational interests.

CAIR’s hysterical claims in this case — Al-Khalili’s letter raises the specter of “the Fairfax County Police Department’s repeated and relentless attacks on American Muslims” — are belied when reviewing the special relationship between CAIR and Fairfax County officials, including the chief of police, Col. David Rohrer, and the County Board of Supervisors chairman, Gerry Connelly.

In fact, Col. Rohrer was a [3] featured speaker at the November 2006 CAIR national [4] annual fundraising dinner, which raised more than $600,000 for the [5] terror-linked group. Col. Rohrer delivered a [6] message professing tolerance and understanding for CAIR’s mission:

As we go forward, let us choose to make a difference and embrace a vision of peace and unity and hope. And let us choose for us and our children hope over fear, caring over indifference, tolerance over intolerance, acceptance over prejudice, and understanding over ignorance.

Rohrer also praised CAIR for “helping police departments to better understand the Muslim community,” though as was [7] reported last year by the Washington Times, CAIR’s membership in 2006 had plummeted to fewer than 1,700 members nationwide and thus is hardly representative of the Muslim community; nor can it remotely claim to speak on its behalf.

Additionally, Rohrer and Fairfax County Supervisor Connelly organized and attended a “community forum” on January 25, 2005, in response to CAIR’s concerns about police enforcement of immigration laws. According to a CAIR press release, Connelly assured attendees that “Fairfax County police officers are not an arm of federal immigration enforcement agencies.” Col. Rohrer had ensured that representatives from the Fairfax Police Internal Affairs Division were present at the CAIR “forum.” Two months later on March 29, CAIR conducted “diversity and sensitivity” training for the staff of the Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court.

But the close relationship between Fairfax County and CAIR has been in the news more recently after Fairfax County Police Sergeant Weiss Rasool [8] pled guilty in April to illegally accessing a federal law enforcement database to run three license plates for a member of his mosque who believed he was under surveillance, tipping him off to an FBI investigation. According to the [9] Washington Post, when FBI agents showed up the following morning at his friend’s residence, the surveillance subject and his family were already in the process of shredding evidence. Rasool denied he had tipped off his friend until federal prosecutors played a wiretap recording of the message he had left with his friend and that had been obtained through a warrant from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court. Rasool also repeatedly checked his own name and those of other friends through the National Crime Information Center system and the Terrorist Watch List.

CAIR governmental affairs director Corey Saylor sent a letter to the sentencing judge in the case praising Rasool’s eagerness “to promote a substantive relationship between the Fairfax County Police Department and the local Muslim community.” Despite his admission and guilty plea, Sgt. Rasool is still a member of the Fairfax County Police Department.

But as Steve Emerson of the Investigative Project [10] reported following his guilty plea, Sgt. Rasool and several other Muslim members of the Fairfax County Police Department had already been instrumental in scuttling a counterterrorism program at the county’s Criminal Justice Academy conducted by the Higgins Center for Counterterrorism Research. The Higgins course is designed to help counter infiltrating threats — skills apparently sorely needed by Fairfax County officials. One of Rasool’s comrades complaining about the Higgins course represented himself as speaking on CAIR’s behalf.

CAIR’s cozy relationship with Fairfax County officials was also seen in the recent [11] revelation that CAIR co-founder and executive director Nihad Awad had recently donated to Fairfax Supervisor Gerry Connelly’s current campaign for Congress. Awad had used an alias, Nehad Hammad, in making the campaign contribution.

Contrast this longstanding association and cooperation between CAIR and the highest levels of Fairfax County government and police, including appearances at CAIR fundraisers, with the hysterics of the CAIR demand letter sent by Nadhira Al-Khalili in the Abbasi case:

We have noticed what may be a pattern and practice of the Fairfax County Police Department to discriminate against persons of the Islamic faith. We are bringing this issue to the attention of the United States Department of Justice and are requesting a full investigation of the Fairfax County Police Department’s repeated and relentless attacks on American Muslims.

The record clearly shows that Fairfax County officials have been overly accommodating to CAIR, especially considering the group’s longstanding ties to international terrorist organizations. In fact, the Department of Justice in December [12] concluded in a federal appeals court brief that “CAIR conspired with other affiliates of the Muslim Brotherhood to support terrorists.” This raises the question of why anyone affiliated with Fairfax County government or police should have any association with CAIR at all except in criminal investigations looking into the group’s activities.

Last week, Dr. Abbasi pled no contest to one of the drug possession charges rather than face multiple convictions on the others dealing with possession and unlawfully prescribing drugs, effectively undercutting CAIR’s narrative of events. The plea deal emerged after the judge expressed skepticism at the claims of racial profiling, religious discrimination, and failure to obtain consent for the vehicle search after hearing and reviewing all of the evidence and testimony in the matter — something CAIR admits it never bothered to do before making its accusations against the officers involved and making its demands for internal affairs and DOJ investigations. What we see at work in the case of Dr. Mustafa Abbasi is part of a concerted effort by CAIR to threaten and intimidate police departments in cases involving Muslims across the country to advance its cultural jihadist agenda.

As a regular consultant to police agencies on counterterrorism issues, I can attest to the immense pressure that police and other first responders are constantly under without having to deal with bogus claims of religious discrimination and self-serving demands to institute CAIR’s own “diversity and sensitivity” training programs. If the Department of Justice Civil Rights Division wishes to look into these matters, as CAIR has demanded in Abbasi’s case, perhaps it should begin by examining the hostile work environment for police officers created by CAIR’s constant, yet continually baseless, grievance-mongering.
