CAIR Calls RFDAH Out

Well its official, CAIR knows who I am. RFDAH got mentioned in
this CAIR press release for being in their banquet.
I'll take this as a badge of honor, I think CAIR intends it as a warning.
Either way, they cared enough to go digging.

WASHINGTON, Oct. 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Council on American-Islamic
Relations (CAIR) today distributed an editorial, entitled "Islamophobia
Machine Targets American Muslims," outlining what the Washington-based Muslim
civil rights group says is a campaign by "extremists of all stripes who
coordinate and cooperate in a relentless effort to demonize Islam and deprive
American Muslims of their civil rights."

CAIR distributed the editorial through ISLAM-OPED, a syndication service
designed to offer an American Muslim perspective on current political, social
and religious issues. ISLAM-OPED commentaries are offered free-of-charge to
one media outlet in each market area. Permission for publication will be

CAIR: Islamophobia Machine Targets American Muslims
Nihad Awad
WORD COUNT: 1187

[Nihad Awad is national executive director for the Council on American-Islamic
Relations (CAIR), the nation's leading Muslim civil liberties organization. He
may be contacted at nawad@cair.com.]

"Are you a believer?" asked the participant in a Capitol Hill gathering of
Islamophobes and Muslim-bashers who -- according to conference materials --
were seeking to promote "freedom of speech and religion."

When CAIR's intern answered, "Yes, of course," the conference participant --
whose card indicated he works for "Encountering Islam Christian Ministry" and
obviously thinking "believer" meant something other than Muslim -- replied,
"Good, because we want to cut their [Muslims'] necks off."

Just one hour later, the officially-registered intern was asked to leave the
conference, which was held in the U.S. Congressional Auditorium, because "some
of the panel members do not feel comfortable with you being here." So much for
freedom of speech and religion.

Before being ejected, CAIR's intern heard one audience member seek advice from
a panelist as to how American Muslim rights could be "curtailed," given the
fact that "unfortunately" Islam itself cannot be outlawed.

But not to worry -- one of the speakers at the Washington, D.C., conference
does advocate outlawing Islam in America. That speaker, David Yerushalmi,
works for one of the other speakers at the conference, Frank Gaffney Jr.

Other panelists included anti-Islam hate blogger Pam Geller, who has appeared
at Muslim-bashing events with Gaffney and with another conference speaker,
Florida House of Representatives Majority Leader Adam Hasner. Hasner recently
hosted an appearance by extremist anti-Islam Dutch politician Geert "ban the
Quran" Wilders in Florida, which was co-hosted by the hate blogger and
promoted by another conference panelist, Tom Trento of the Florida Security
Council.

Does all this make sense? It does if you understand that there is an
"Islamophobia Machine" made up of extremists of all stripes who coordinate and
cooperate in a relentless effort to demonize Islam and deprive American
Muslims of their civil rights.

The list of attendees at CAIR's recent sold-out 15th annual banquet in
Arlington, Va., further illustrates how the Islamophobia machine works.

Two of those who purchased tickets for the banquet were notorious Islamophobes
with histories of Muslim-bashing and associations with hate groups.

Among the 750 Muslim community members and activists, interfaith leaders and
diplomats from Muslim-majority nations who heard addresses by speakers such as
Rev. Jesse Jackson and Rabbi Steven B. Jacobs of Progressive Faith Foundation
were the two "moles" -- a hijab-clad representative of an anti-Islam group and
a "counterterrorism consultant" who claims Thomas Jefferson only owned a Quran
"so that he could know his enemy, so he could confront them, know them, kill
them."

The consultant, John Cosgrove, made that claim weeks earlier as he protested
the "Day of Islamic Unity," during which thousands of American Muslims
gathered for prayer on Capitol Hill. Cosgrove is head of the Virginia chapter
of the anti-Muslim hate group called the United American Committee (UAC). He
was one of the main opponents of the expansion of an Islamic school in
Virginia.

In 2007, the head of the UAC called Islam a "cult" and said terrorists are
"honest" Muslims. He also stated that anyone who believes Muslims are not the
"enemy" is "incredibly ignorant or a simple-minded fool."

Hijab-wearing mole number two, Christine Brim, is senior vice president for
policy and program management at the Center for Security Policy. She was asked
to leave the event after being observed surreptitiously recording the banquet
speeches, despite earlier being given legal notice that such recordings were
prohibited. Instead of speaking to security personnel, Brim immediately fled
to the hotel's exit. (CAIR's dinner was an open event with media present.
Unauthorized recordings are prohibited only to prevent abuse by those who
have, in the past, sought to smear the speakers by distorting their words.)

Brim, along with Cosgrove, was an opponent of the Islamic school in Virginia.

Her group and its President Frank Gaffney Jr. actively promote the racist and
anti-Islam ideology of David Yerushalmi, the center's general counsel, who has
advocated outlawing the practice of Islam in America and permanently closing
all U.S. mosques.

SEE: Center for Security Policy Staff
http://www.centerforsecuritypolicy.org/staff.xml

In a 2007 commentary headlined "War Manifesto -- The War Against Islam,"
Yerushalmi called for a "war against Islam and all Muslim faithful." He wrote
in part:

"On the so-called Global War on Terrorism, GWOT, we have been quite clear
along with a few other resolute souls. This should be a WAR AGAINST ISLAM and
all Muslim faithful...At a practical level, this means that Shari'a and
Islamic law are immediately outlawed. Any Moslem in America who adopts
historical and traditional Shari'a will be subject to deportation. Mosques
which adhere to Islamic law will be shut down permanently. No self-described
or practicing Muslim, irrespective of his or her declarations to the contrary,
will be allowed to immigrate to this country..."

Another such "manifesto" called for making "adherence to Islam" punishable by
a 20-year prison term.

In a 2006 article for The American Spectator, Yerushalmi wrote: "Muslim
civilization is at war with Judeo-Christian civilization...The Muslim peoples,
those committed to Islam as we know it today, are our enemies."

In another article, Yerushalmi wrote: "Instead of a promise of victory, Sura
24:52 must be made ashes in the mouths of Muslims. A seemingly unending air
control campaign over enemy territory is the way to continually remind the
Muslims of their subordinate status and the impotence of Allah without
becoming mired in the quagmire of counterinsurgency."

He also wrote that he "has staked out an approach which is to Know the Enemy
by declaring the enemy historical, traditional, and authoritative Islam."

Yerushalmi's website once contained the following white supremacist language
as part of its mission statement:

"America was the handiwork of faithful Christians, mostly men, and almost
entirely white, who ventured from Europe to create a nation in their image of
a country existing as free men under G-d."

Other articles on his website made racist statements such as: "There is a
reason the founding fathers did not give women or black slaves the right to
vote," and "Race matters and affects your intelligence. Jews are the smartest
white people around. Orientals smarter than Whites. Latinos next. Then
Blacks."

Another article stated:

"Is there something unique about the Black American (or, at least the Black
New Yorker) that leads him to murder so disproportionately and to most often
kill and victimize his own?"

Yerushalmi is also the former employer of Dave Gaubatz, his one-time "Director
of Intelligence and Counter-terrorism Studies" and author of a Muslim-bashing
book. In 2007, Yerushalmi's group paid Gaubatz $148,898 for "research."

Gaubatz has a long history of bigotry targeting Islam and Muslims. He has
called Islam an "evil ideology" and a "terminal disease." Along with his past
rhetorical attacks Islam, Gaubatz has called President Obama a "crack head"
and wrote that "a vote for Hussein Obama is a vote for Sharia Law."

It is becoming obvious to anyone who puts all the parts of the Islamophobia
machine together that American Muslims are being targeted by a coordinated and
well-funded nationwide effort to disenfranchise their community and demonize
their faith.

This insidious effort will only succeed if Americans of all faiths fail take a
stand against un-American attempts to divide our nation along religious lines.

CAIR 15th Annual Banquet Quicklook

CAIR had its 15th annual banquet this past Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at the Gateway Crystal City Marriott in Arlington, VA. Located a few blocks from the Pentagon, it is ironic that their venue was the same used to host Arlington County's 9-11 After Action Conference, where first responders and officials from around the country came to learn from Arlington County's repose to 9-11.

All credit to my unnamed supporter, the theme of this year's banquet was the incredible shrinking CAIR. Embassies that attended in the past did not have tables, and though the Saudi Embassy had a table, only two people who may, or may not, have been from the Embassy arrived. Otherwise, it was 6 open seats at the table. Also notably absent were the Jordanian Embassy and the Iranian Interests Section. In doing a comparison between past banquets, far fewer embassies attended this year. However, while its old friends sat out, a new friend, in the form of Libya arrived. The Embassy of Libya had a full table as the Libyan Ambassador to the US attended the event. The Libyan Ambassador received special recognition by MC Mahdi Bray, and a very warm personal greeting from Esam Omeish. Perhaps this video contributed to Omeish's loss in his Dem. Va. Delegate primary loss:

CAIRs gave most of its awards its immediate inner circle. This raises the question of whether or not CAIR could find anyone of note that would actually accept the award. Mahdi Bray received one of their awards, perhaps for good work such as this:

This years banquet had more, and more visible, security. Marriott, Wachenhut, and CAIR staff put on a strong show. Of interest, the CAIR staff acting as security had badges this year, however I could not identify what the big gold shields said. If the shields had police, or special police, on them, they would have been in violation of Virginia law. It could not be determined if the increase in security was due to our video from last year, security required for Jesse Jackson, and or both.

The other big questions is why were Jesse Jackson, and sidekick Rabbi Steve Jacobs, their? Solicitations for the Rainbow Coalition PUSH were made, and as Bray said in pushing for donations for Jackson, "you've got to be a friend, to get a friend." Was Jackson there because CAIR paid for his help in response to the Myrick et al crackdown? Was Jackson just piling on to stay relevant?

Though I never agree with what they say, the speakers this year were worse than last year. Amidst a series of rambling, conspiracy theory, defensive, and half-hearted saber rattling, Larry Shaw stood out as the standout gaffe maker. Larry Shaw made a joke about the FBI sponsoring tables that was not well received due to the tangible paranoia in the room. He then proceeded to make an incoherent diatribe implying the US government was ignoring drug cartels to focus on low level drug dealers. Perhaps the most telling audience participation of the night was when Shaw asked the crowd separately if there were any U.S. military and then first responders in attendance. No one raised a hand or uttered a word. Dead silence.

Robert Spencer received a direct challenge from Mahdi Bray and Muslim Mafia was the target of the bully pulpit for the speakers. A victory in the Flying Imams case was also celebrated.

CAIR's donations that night, approximately $170,000+ helped them meet their quarterly goal of raising $1 million, alleged Bray after a substantially abbreviated fund raising effort by Siraj Wahhaj.

Funniest moment of the night goes not to a speaker, but to the Tiramisu that had alcohol in it. Only the Kafir in attendance recognized that wonderful haram taste.

I am working on scanning copies of the material that handed out at the tables near reception.

I sat with Martin McMahon (CAIR and Saudi lawyer), Arab News reporter Sarah Ferguson, and an Alhurrah anchor and producer. Always strange company at these events.

Caught red handed Islam cries foul

From the faithful over at Islam In Action:

In the wake of finding out that the FBI had an informant in a California Mosque, 11 major US Muslim organizations have threatened to end all outreach programs with the FBI. Demanding that the FBI changes their ways in dealing with potential Islamic threats. Of course these leading Islamic groups once again try and use our freedoms against us to get their way as they are saying "We want our constitutional rights."
They even go as far as to say that the FBI is to blame for potential Islamic terrorists here in America. This is just another example of US Muslims trying to dictate how our country is run. We need to wake up and see that they are not here to be our equals, they are here to dominate.

US Muslim Groups Mull FBI Boycott
By Muhammed Qasim, IOL Correspondent

Bazian believes that sending infiltrators and informants into mosques leaves the Muslim community with the assumption that they are "guilty" until proven otherwise.

WASHINGTON — Frustrated by mistrust, suspicion and provocative actions targeting their law-abiding community, the major American Muslim groups are considering to rupture all outreach relations with the FBI and the Justice Department.
"The Muslim organizations are very carefully considering to suspend relations with the government agency in order to create some room for the agency to re-consider the way they are dealing with the Muslim community," Nihad Awad, Executive Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), told IslamOnline.net.

Eleven of the most prominent Muslim groups in the country issued on Tuesday, March 17, a joint statement asking the FBI to reconsider its policies of targeting American Muslims and Muslim groups.

"If the FBI does not accord fair and equitable treatment to every American Muslim organization…then Muslim organizations, mosques and individuals will have no choice but to consider suspending all outreach activities with FBI offices, agents and other personnel," said the statement.

"This possible suspension, of course, would in no way affect our unshakable duty to report crimes or threats of violence to our nation."

The signatories stressed that reaching this decision was not swift or easy, but by all means inevitable.

"We are doing this to bring the unreasonable and unfair treatment of the Muslim community to the attention of the government, give them some time, give them some space, to make changes and amendments," Dr. Agha Sahi, Chairman of the American Muslim Task Force on Civil Rights and Elections (AMT), told IOL.

Hatem Bazian, President of the California-based American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), also linked the decisions to "the way the FBI deals with the Muslim Community in America."

"Now the organizations are collectively considering to suspend relations with the FBI."

Besides CAIR, AMT and AMP, the other organizations are the American Muslim Alliance (AMA), Islamic Educational Center of Orange County (IEC), Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), Muslim Alliance in North America (MANA), Muslim American Society-Freedom Foundation (MAS-FF), Muslim Student Association-National (MSA-N), Muslim Ummah of North America (MUNA) and United Muslims of America (UMA).

Provocative

In their statement, the Muslim groups cited some of the recent provocative incidents by the FBI.

"There are a number of reasons, which compelled us to take this step, the first one is the mistreatment of the Muslim scholars and Ulema," Sahi told IOL.

"Many have been arrested on false charges and either deported or set them aside."

He added that FBI agents and informants who come into mosques to spy on worshippers also increased Muslims anger.

"[They] are provoking young Muslims and compelling them on doing unreasonable and stupid things, take them to the courts and jail them for 20 to 25 years," he said.

"The job of the government is not to provoke people."

The Muslim community in California were infuriated last month after it was revealed that the FBI sent a convicted criminal to pose as an agent provocateur in several of the state's mosques.

Last year, media reports unveiled that FBI agents were monitoring mosques in California's cities of Los Angeles and San Diego.

For Bazian, the California Muslim community leader, sending infiltrators and informants into mosques is leaving the community with one assumption.

"The assumption is that they are guilty," he said.

"They are looking at us with suspicion."

Awad, the CAIR Executive Director, agrees.

"To send a criminal to a mosque to instigate violence is not acceptable," he fumed.

"It's really undermining the relationship between the Muslim community and the government that we have made over the years."

ISA: Islamic Mob Intimidates Dhimmi Planning Commission

Virginia: Bullying Mob Packs Govt Meeting in Support of Islamic Supremacist Institution

March 19, 2009

http://anti-jihad.org/blog/2009/03/fairfax-600/
http://www.unitedstatesaction.com/blog/imm-articles/132.html

Imagine facing the overwhelming odds of fighting for equality in Islamic supremacist Saudi Arabia or in the 1960s-era white supremacist Mississippi.

These were the same odds faced by a handful of activists in challenging the estimated 600 supporters of the Islamic Saudi Academy at Northern Virginia’s Fairfax County Planning Commission on the night of March 18, 2009. Many hundreds of the Islamic Saudi Academy (ISA) supporters wore printed name tag badges reading “I Support ISA,” including ISA’s logo containing the emblem of Saudi Arabian government with its two crossed swords.

This is the same Saudi government that a few weeks ago the U.S. State Department condemned for its “significant human rights problems” in denying basic freedoms and human rights to men, women, and non-Muslims, and the same Saudi government whose courts recently sentenced a 75 year old woman to 40 lashes for “mingling” with men, and whose courts recently sentenced a pregnant gang-rape victim to 100 lashes for “adultery.”

The meeting of the Fairfax County Government Planning Commission was to consider a special exemption to a zoning regulation to allow for the building of an expansion to the Islamic Saudi Academy in Fairfax, Virginia. The Fairfax County government has been leasing space for the existing Saudi Academy facilities for years now. As a suburb of Washington DC, Fairfax, Virginia is slightly more than 20 miles away from our nation’s capital. The Islamic Saudi Academy has been frequently criticized for its reported use of textbooks promoting hate and violence, its former students associated with jihad plots, reports of negligence on reporting female child sex abuse, and ISA’s former valedictorian convicted of joining Al-Qaeda and plotting to assassinate the president.

At the government public meeting, the Fairfax County government board auditorium was packed by Islamic Saudi Academy supporters beyond capacity with dozens standing in the aisles and corridors, as it sought to show its clout to Northern Virginia’s Fairfax government. It was an event that most Fairfax residents were unaware of, but the Saudi Arabian-backed institution’s supporters were well organized to demonstrate their power in Virginia. Andrea Lafferty, one of the few speakers to challenge the Islamic Saudi Academy was nearly ushered out with the overflow crowd of Islamic Saudi Academy supporters, until she fought to have a seat in the audience.

As Islamic Saudi Academy’s attorney Lynn Strobel presented their case to the Fairfax County Planning Commission, she emphasized the public support of her clients seeking the expansion of this Islamic supremacist, Wahhabist-based institution. In a dramatic move to demonstrate their power, Lynn Strobel turned to audience and asked the supporters of the Islamic Saudi Academy to rise. In the auditorium packed with individuals wearing printed badges “I Support ISA,” virtually EVERY person stood up.

While the Islamic Saudi Academy’s attorney and their speakers were treated courteously and with respect, those in opposition to the Islamic Saudi Academy were treated very differently.

The bullying mob of Islamic Saudi Academy supporters was frequently allowed to disrupt the tiny number willing to speak against the Islamic Saudi Academy’s planned expansion in Fairfax County. Several speakers challenging this expansion were loudly booed and laughed at — until the Fairfax commission chairman Peter Murphy (as this was being captured on video) would eventually call for order.

While most of the activists challenging the Islamic Saudi Academy addressed typical zoning issues like traffic and local conservation issues, they also addressed the challenge to human rights in extending land use for an institution with a documented history of textbooks promoting hatred and intolerance, and whose leaders and students have been linked to covering up female child sex abuse and terrorism plots. One commissioner criticized such activists for addressing such human rights and human security issues as “people there who obviously had an agenda.”

The first public speaker was Traditional Values Coalition’s James Lafferty. After addressing typical zoning issues and explaining his familiarity with the existing ISA Academy, James Lafferty addressed his concerns about ISA teachings and the impact on the community. He stated that his concern has been that the repeated reports about ISA teachings indicate that they are anti-American, anti-Christian, and anti-semitic. To underscore their intolerance, the bullying mob of 600 ISA supporters loudly booed, shouted down, and laughed at his comments. (Minutes earlier, ISA attorney Lynn Strobel attested to how ISA “promotes respect and mutual understanding” between Muslims and others.)

James Lafferty was not the only heckled speaker at the government meeting. His wife, Andrea Lafferty, was also booed and laughed at as she spoke about her concerns by the crowd - once again showing the type of “respect and mutual understanding” that the ISA supporters are seeking to expand. Andrea Lafferty expressed her concerns about how the land use would be used to promote supremacist ideologies, emphasizing her concerns about the Saudi Academy’s promotion of Sharia law, the history of textbooks calling for intolerance and hate, the incomplete translation of recent allegedly revised textbooks, and the potential for promoting violent behavior. As the crowd of ISA supporters mockingly laughed at her concerns, Andrea Lafferty expressed her concerns about the conflict between the American commitment to human rights and Islamic supremacism’s suppression of women and others, summarizing her thoughts as “the Statue of Liberty has a torch in her hand, not a rock.” She challenged the Fairfax officials not to be cowardly on this issue and to consider the land use issues associated with such human rights and freedoms. However, Fairfax Planning Commissioner Chairman Peter Murphy was only concerned about challenging methods of flier distribution to alert residents to this meeting.

The meeting that started at 8:15 PM lasted late into the night, continuing well past midnight into the early hours of the morning, with 35 public speakers, many of which were apparently signed up in a coordinated effort by the Islamic Saudi Academy earlier in the week, as speakers supporting the ISA would state that they had been asked by ISA officials to speak at the meeting.

Other activists who spoke at the Fairfax County meeting included:

– Denise Lee, ACT for America - who challenged land use issues for the ISA expansion including traffic patters, water issues, and property values - but then addressed the documented issues of the intolerance and hate reported in the ISA textbooks and the cover-up by a school official over sexual abuse of a 5 year old girl that was an ISA student.

– Christine Brim, Senior Vice President, Center for Security Policy - who addressed the history of how ISA has overpromised and failed to live up to its commitments in the past on the existing facility. Christine pointed out that given this history, the commission should be concerned about new information yet to be disclosed by ISA.

– Faith McDonnell, international human rights activist with The Institute on Religion and Democracy - who pointed out how a Christian school was denied similar zoning exceptions in the same area, and who addressed her experience in dealing with international human rights as to how Islamic supremacist ideologies oppress and threaten those who seek freedom of conscience and religion. Faith also challenged the Fairfax County Planning Commission that enabling the teaching of such supremacism does not come without consequences, and that the Planning Commission would be accountable for what happens as a result.

– Myself - Jeffrey Imm, Responsible for Equality And Liberty (R.E.A.L.) organization - addressing the need for considering the Virginia Human Rights Act in government decisions and land use, and relating my past experiences in seeing business and land use to promote white supremacism in the 1960’s Virginia. I related my experiences in seeing such segregationist, “white clientele only” businesses in Virginia and stated that there is no difference between businesses promoting racial supremacism from “religious” supremacism in terms of supremacism defying our inalienable human rights of equality and liberty. I urged the planning commission to consider how injurious it would be to promote the bullying nature of supremacist ideologies in Virginia businesses - among a people whose responsible for equality and liberty is their first priority.

The numerous ISA supporters who spoke at the Fairfax Planning Commission meeting were not heckled, booed at, or shouted down. One ISA supporter, Abdul Rahman, told the commission that the ISA expansion must be granted because “America needs Islam.” Another ISA supporter called for the ISA expansion to “teach our children in our traditions.” One of the very few women ISA supporters not wearing a hijab or a niqab (among the hundreds that did), Angela Jrab also spoke to the planning commission on busing issues and the perspective of women at ISA. In response to those concerned about the long history of Saudi and Islamic supremacist oppression of women, Angela Jrab spoke as a supporter of the ISA expansion. Angela Jrab told the planning commission that her Muslim husband did not discriminate against women, nor did ISA, as her company was allowed to manage security for the ISA facilities. Unlike the cold, angry, or “off topic” reaction of planning commissioners to those speakers concerned about Islamic supremacist and Wahhabist ideology’s oppression of women, Fairfax Planning Commissioner Earl Flanagan warmly thanked Angela Jrab for her “most helpful presentation” (which well exceeded her time limit), stating that he was certain Planning Chairman Peter Murphy would agree with him. This was the overall pattern in the planning commission’s reactions to those who spoke. For the most part, those who spoke against the ISA expansion were either ignored, confronted, or grilled - even when bringing up what seemed reasonable safety and land issues. Those who spoke in favor of the ISA expansion were routinely appreciated by the planning commission.

During one of the few breaks in the heated meeting due to the overflowing crowd of ISA supporters, several of those who sought to speak out against the ISA were cornered and confronted by some ISA supporters. These ISA supporters denied all of the reports by the Associated Press, the Washington Post, other media, and U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom. These ISA supporters told activists that the Washington Post and other reports of ISA textbooks calling for jihad and calling Jews apes and Christians pigs - were all lies. These ISA supporters said that the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom’s report criticizing ISA textbooks stating that it is permissible for Muslims to kill coverts from Islam and adulterers - was a lie. They said reports of former ISA valedictorian Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, convicted in federal court of joining Al-Qaeda and plotting to assassinate President Bush - were a lie. They said that FBI reports that former ISA student Mohammed El-Yacoubi was carrying a suicide note with what it believed was planned to be a suicide bombing attack in Israel - were a lie. According to these ISA supporters, all of the reports about the problems with ISA are nothing but lies. In this exchange, one woman ISA supporter shouted out “it is all lies” and then after discovering that one of the cornered rights activists was a Christian, stated that “the Jews killed your Jesus.” Later the same woman ISA supporter reiterated that ISA does not support hate.

In Virginia, while a bullying mob declared “I Support ISA,” you should know that there were fearless activists who clearly sent the message that “We Support USA,” and the inalienable human rights of equality and liberty inherent in America’s identity.

But citizens concerned about the spread of Islamic supremacists’ threat to equality and liberty must not ignore how vastly outnumbered such activists were and continue to be in representing us in public events and before government agencies. The six activists speaking out against the Islamic supremacist nature of the Islamic Saudi Academy were outnumbered by the estimated 600 ISA supporters by nearly 100 to one. This is not the first or the last such public event where the larger consensus on equality and liberty needs greater representation.

Clearly when supporters of Islamic supremacist institutions publicly demonstrate that they can outnumber their opposition by such vast numbers, such supporters will become further emboldened and confident in their ability to influence government agencies, laws, and legislature. In the Washington DC metropolitan area, and around the nation, it is not enough to commiserate privately over our concerns about Islamic supremacism, or to think that “preaching to the choir” on shared Internet blogs and via email is really accomplishing anything.

Those who believe that we can win victories for freedom by merely marching in place and reassuring ourselves — need to wake up. If we are not willing to get out in public to defend equality and liberty as citizen activists, we can be certain that there will be plenty of others supporting institutions and ideologies that do not respect equality and liberty who will act in public. Those who support ideologies against equality and liberty will continue to persuade the media, the government, and your neighbors — that they represent the majority of public opinion. We cannot expect courage from our government, if we don’t see courage from the public they represent.

Will you let them win? Or will you do something about it?

Defending equality and liberty is inconvenient. It takes time and commitment. It costs you money. It interferes with your life. But equality and liberty cannot be taken for granted, with the forces of supremacism that are on the march, not just in Northern Virginia, but around the nation and the world. When you consider how inconvenient it is to challenge supremacism, think about what your life would be like without equality and liberty. Think about what type of future and legacy we would leave for the children and future generations. Good intentions are never enough. Being responsible for equality and liberty means that your action is needed now.

To help in the activist focus on issues challenging equality and liberty, our organization “Responsible for Equality And Liberty (R.E.A.L.)” at realcourage.org has listed future events where we are publicly challenging supremacism. Take the time to look for such events, and see where you can get involved with R.E.A.L. or other activist organizations, such as ACT for America.

The next time you are concerned about the growth of Islamic supremacism in foreign lands, never forget that those who seek to challenge equality and liberty are right here today in America too.

Remember those like the “Fairfax 600″ that publicly supported an Islamic supremacist institution in Virginia. They are convinced that you aren’t willing to publicly challenge them. They are convinced that those supporting equality and liberty either don’t care or are too afraid.

But those of us responsible for equality and liberty will Fear No Evil.

Join Us Today.

CAIR Wants Import of Hamas Families

Two CAIR action alerts. Wants Israel war crimes investigated, but not Hamas...from Islamist doctrine-never betray another muslim, those who do are apostates and worse than kufr dogs.
2) CAIR calling for importation of people who voted Hamas into power...good idea, hope you enjoy rockets in your neighborhood, I'm surprised that they aren't pitching it as: once here, these refugees will celebrate everyday like its the fourth of july..."and the rockets red glare, bombs bursting in UN schools we rigged with explosives" Go Team Muslim Brotherhood. Umma or die!

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 1/15/2009) - A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group today called on the Bush administration to request that the United Nations immediately refer Israeli war crimes in the Gaza Strip to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague.

The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) issued that call after Israel today bombed not only the U.N. headquarters in Gaza, but also targeted several hospitals and an international media center.

CAIR ACTION ALERT #564

Action: Sponsors Sought for U.S. Citizens to be Evacuated from Gaza

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 1/12/2009) - CAIR today issued a call for American sponsors willing to assist families of U.S. citizens who may be evacuated this week from the Gaza Strip.

State Department officials tell CAIR that some of the almost 150 potential evacuees do not have family members in the United States.A number of those seeking evacuation are non-citizen parents of young American-born children. CAIR is calling on individuals and relief groups to offer support. Potential sponsors would have to provide all the needs of evacuees for a period of six months, demonstrate financial ability and submit an I-134 “Affidavit of Support” form.

CAIR has been seeking State Department assistance in evacuating two American children, ages six and three, along with all the other Americans in Gaza. The father of the two children said bullets fired from an Israeli tank hit the family home in Beit Hanoun on Saturday. He said his brother’s nearby two-story home was destroyed today by the Israelis.

The death toll from Israeli attacks on Gaza has topped 900, with many women and children among the dead and more than 4000 injured. In its attacks, Israel has denied access to wounded civilians and has targeted homes, schools, mosques, universities, medical and United Nations personnel, a hospital, and a church. A leading human rights group has accused Israel of using white-phosphorus munitions in its attacks on civilian areas.
