Communism continues unabated. To pay for nationalized healthcare, those with current healthcare are going to be taxed. Yes, Virginia, there is a boogyman. So what used to be a benefit for those that had it, is now a liability, simply for working. The Government is going to decide how to use the income of productive members of society to better the lives of the unproductive. This is wealth redistribution. This is the targeted destruction of capitalism and free enterprise.

A Senate plan to overhaul the nation's health system is likely to include a new tax on some employer-provided health benefits that exceed the value of the basic plan offered to federal employees, currently about $13,000 a year for a family of four, the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee said yesterday.

Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.) said he is drafting the health reform measure, which he expects to unveil next week. He told reporters that taxing employer-provided benefits is "perhaps the best way to raise money for an overhaul of the health-care system" and offered details about the form that tax is likely to take.

Baucus said his proposal is likely to cap benefits at "a level higher than the actual benefit that members of Congress receive today." An employer-provided plan worth less than that level would remain tax-free, he said, while any benefit exceeding the cap would be taxed as ordinary income.

Such a tax, if adopted, would be phased in over "several years," Baucus said. And it would be likely to "grandfather" in health benefits set as part of a collective-bargaining agreement, he said, allowing union plans to remain tax-free until new contracts can be negotiated.

Baucus declined to say how much money the proposal would generate. The nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation estimates that taxing employer benefits above the value of the Federal Employees Health Benefit Plan, adjusted for inflation, would generate nearly $420 billion over the next 10 years -- a sizable chunk of the $1 trillion or more likely to be needed to expand coverage for the uninsured.

A higher cap and exemptions for unions would make the tax more politically palatable but would diminish the amount of money it would raise. Baucus said the sums under discussion remain "significant" but added that he is looking at a variety of other money-raising options, including Obama's plan to limit the value of itemized deductions for families earning more than $250,000 a year.

At a closed-door meeting of the Finance Committee last month, the Joint Committee on Taxation also provided estimates for repealing the tax deduction for certain large medical expenses ($180 billion over 10 years), a new tax on flexible savings accounts and health reimbursement accounts (about $70 billion over 10 years), a new 3-cent tax on sugary drinks (about $50 billion over 10 years) and higher taxes on alcohol (about $60 billion over 10 years). A more dramatic proposal -- taxing half of all employer-provided health premiums -- would generate $1.2 trillion over 10 years, according to a memo provided to Finance Committee members. Baucus's comments came after a lunchtime meeting of Senate Democrats at which lawmakers began hashing out the complex details of a health overhaul. "This is the first week of crunch time," said Sen. Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.). "This is the first day when, instead of looking at the car, we're starting to test-drive it."

Democratic leaders in both the House and Senate yesterday continued to trickle out details of proposals without saying how they would raise the money. The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee released an outline that would require the vast majority of businesses to contribute to workers' health costs and would impose tight restrictions on the practices of insurance companies. Like a developing House plan, it would include government-sponsored insurance for people who have trouble finding coverage on the private market -- an idea adamantly opposed by Republicans.

As a pediatric doctor it follows he would run on a healthcare platform. Which is a much better platform than Pro-Jihad, Anti-Israel, Islamist Supremacy. I suppose getting thrown off of Gov. Kaine's Immigration Panel didn't help either.

Stop Omeish has the breakdown here. 1,039 voted for Omeish, which was 15% of the vote, which also means he beat someone. As one of 4 contenders, he finished 3rd.

Open questions: Was Omeish really interested in elected office? Is this a smoke screen? Is this a CAIR et al experiment, role out a well documented offender and see what sticks, a setup for a more "moderate" candidate later?

A man identified as "Esam Omesh" spoke just before Cindy Sheehan at last month's antiwar rally that Sheehan headlined in Washington.

Following chants of "Impeach Bush!" from shivering protesters, Omesh took the podium and exhorted "brothers and sisters" to condemn Bush for the deaths of "more than 650,000 Iraqi lives." He demanded the White House "pull our troops out of Iraq now" and "end the war today."

The speaker counted himself among the "great American patriots" who braved the cold to march on Washington and protest the war that day.

While there may have been legitimate voices there, this speaker decidedly was not one of them. Not because he's Muslim, but because he's an Islamist tied to an al-Qaida fund raiser and the spiritual adviser to the 9/11 hijackers.

Turns out it his real name is Esam S. Omeish, and he runs a nonprofit group in Washington called the Muslim American Society, which the FBI believes is the U.S. branch of the dangerous Muslim Brotherhood, a worldwide jihadist movement that operates like the mafia. The secret Islamist society counts Osama bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahri, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and blind sheik Omar Abdel Rahman among its members. Its motto: "The Quran is our constitution, the prophet is our guide; Death for the glory of Allah is our greatest ambition."

His office is right next door to the old office of one of Al-Qaida's top fund raisers in America, Abdurahman Alamoudi, before he was jailed a few years ago. And it's located in the same Alexandria, Va., business park as the former office of Osama bin Laden's nephew, before he hightailed it back to Saudi Arabia after 9/11.

"Omesh" is not the legal spelling of his name. He may spell it that way for the media, but that's not how it's listed in court documents I've examined. The correct spelling is Omeish with an "i." Perhaps he leaves it out to avoid links to his brother, Mohamed S. Omeish.

As I first reported in my book, "Infiltration: How Muslim Spies and Subversives Have Penetrated Washington," Mohamed Omeish headed the U.S. branch of one of bin Laden's favorite Saudi charities, the International Islamic Relief Organization, which was raided after 9/11. Tax records I've obtained show Omeish shared an office with Alamoudi, the convicted al-Qaida-tied terrorist and godfather of the Muslim mafia in America. This is the same "moderate" Muslim leader who federal prosecutors caught on tape complaining bin Laden hadn't killed enough Americans.

It gets worse. Esam S. Omeish also sits on the board of the 9/11-tied mosque in Washington that helped the hijackers get licenses and housing, and whose imam prepared them for martyrdom operations in private closed-door sessions. Omeish personally hired the imam, Anwar Aulaqi, who fled the country on a Saudi jet about a year after 9/11 (the FBI now wants another crack at questioning him).

Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center, which tax records show has received large donations from the Islamic Relief Organization, is a Muslim Brotherhood bastion. Another former imam and current prayer leader, for example, is an admitted Brotherhood member from the Sudan. The mosque's deed was signed by an Alamoudi crony who has admitted participating in the Brotherhood's "Ikhwan" movement in America.

Dar al-Hijrah is a turnstile for terrorists and terror suspects. A prayer leader, Sheikh Mohammed al-Hanooti, was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the first World Trade Center bombing. Other dubious mosque members have included: Alamoudi, Abdullah bin Laden, Osama's nephew; Hamas leader and fugitive Mousa Abu Marzook and his partners Ismail Elbarasse and Abdelhaleem Ashqar, who was convicted of obstruction of justice in February; convicted Virginia Jihad Network leader Randall "Ismail" Royer, a former CAIR official; and Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, an al-Qaida operative recently convicted of plotting to assassinate President Bush.

Leaders of the mosque rallied around Ali, calling the trial a Zionist "witch hunt," even after it became obvious he was guilty.

What's more, the phone number to the mosque was found in the German apartment of Ramzi bin al-Shibh, roommate of 9/11 ringleader Mohamed Atta. Atta's deputy "emir" in the "raid" on America, Nawaf al-Hazmi, worshipped at Dar al-Hijrah, along with the pilot who crashed the plane into the Pentagon.

Back to mosque leader Esam Omeish, the "American patriot." Court records I've obtained show he put his home up for bond collateral in 2004 to help spring from jail a terrorist suspect who was caught allegedly casing the Chesapeake bridge for attack. His dubious pal Ismail Elbarasse is a founding member of Dar al-Hijrah.

Omeish's house is just down the road from the mosque in Falls Church, Va., and just a few blocks in the other direction from the Islamist business park in Alexandria. One of Omeish's neighbors on his cul-de-sac is the former bookkeeper for terror banker Soliman Biheiri. He started an Islamic investment bank that included Hamas leader Marzook and Abdullah bin Laden as major investors. Biheiri, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, was recently convicted of lying about his connections to Marzook in an investigation into his terrorist ties.

It's one big happy Islamist family in Omeish's neck of the woods.

This is who is rallying opposition to the war. Omeish may claim to be an "American patriot," but even Cindy Sheehan should know better. The people she's consorting with would not have shed a tear had her son been beheaded in Iraq.

Obama: USA=Muslim Nation, Share Nukes with the Umma

The other day we heard a comment from a White House aide that never would have been uttered during the primaries or general election campaign.

During a conference call in preparation for President Obama’s trip to Cairo, Egypt, where he will address the Muslim world, deputy National Security Adviser for Strategic Communications Denis McDonough said “the President himself experienced Islam on three continents before he was able to — or before he’s been able to visit, really, the heart of the Islamic world — you know, growing up in Indonesia, having a
Muslim father — obviously Muslim Americans (are) a key part of Illinois and Chicago.”

Given widespread unease and prejudice against Muslims among Americans, especially in the wake of 9/11, the Obama campaign was perhaps understandably very sensitive during the primaries and general election to downplay the candidate’s Muslim roots.

The candidate was even offended when referred to by his initials “BHO,” because he considered the use of his middle name, “Hussein,” an attempt to frighten voters.

With insane rumors suggesting he was some sort of Muslim Manchurian candidate, then-Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., and his campaign did everything they could to emphasize his Christianity and de-emphasize the fact that his father, Barack Obama Sr., was born Muslim.

The candidate’s comment at a Boca Raton, Florida, town hall meeting on May 22, 2008, was typical: “My father was basically agnostic, as far as I can tell, and I didn’t know him,” he said.

In September 2008, candidate Obama told a Pennsylvania crowd, “I know that I’m not your typical presidential candidate and I just want to be honest with you. I know that the temptation is to say, ‘You know what? The guy hasn’t been there that long in Washington. You know, he’s got a funny name. You know, we’re not sure about him.’ And that’s what the Republicans when they say this isn’t about issues, it’s about personalities, what they’re really saying is, ‘We’re going to try to scare people about Barack. So we’re going to say that, you know, maybe he’s got Muslim connections.’…Just making stuff up.”

Back then, the campaign’s “Fight the Smears” website addressed the candidate’s faith without mentioning his father’s religion:

“Barack Obama is a committed Christian. He was sworn into the Senate on his family Bible. He has regularly attended church with his wife and daughters for years. But shameful, shadowy attackers have been lying about Barack’s religion, claiming he is a Muslim instead of a committed Christian. When people fabricate stories about someone’s faith to denigrate them politically, that’s an attack on people of all faiths. Make sure everyone you know is aware of this deception.”

The website also provided quotes from the Boston Globe and Newsweek mentioning his father’s roots.

Since the election, however, with the threat of the rumors at least somewhat abated, the White House has been increasingly forthcoming about the president’s roots. Especially when reaching out to the Muslim world.

In his April 6 address to the Turkish Parliament, President Obama referenced how many “Americans have Muslims in their families or have lived in a Muslim majority country. I know, because I am one of them.”

Apparently the Islamic scholar under whom this American convert to Islam studied was yet another misunderstander of Islam's true, peaceful teachings.

(CNN) -- An Arkansas man was arrested Monday in connection with a shooting at a Little Rock military recruiting center that killed one soldier and wounded another, authorities said.

Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad -- a 24-year-old Little Rock resident formerly known as Carlos Bledsoe -- faces a first-degree murder charge and 15 counts of engaging in a terrorist act, Little Rock Police Chief Stuart Thomas said. The terrorist counts stem from the shots fired at an occupied building.

The soldier who was killed was identified as Pvt. William Long, 24, of Conway, and the wounded soldier is Pvt. Quinton Ezeagwula, 18, of Jacksonville, Thomas said....

Although military officials initially believed that the shooting was a random act, Thomas said police think the shooter acted alone "with the specific purpose of targeting military personnel."...

Thomas said police recovered three guns from Muhammad's black Ford SUV: an SKS semi-automatic rifle, a .22-caliber rifle and a pistol....

Charges brought against three members of the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense under the Bush administration have been dropped by the Obama Justice Department, FOX News has learned.

The charges stemmed from an incident at a Philadelphia polling place on Election Day 2008 when three members of the party were accused of trying to threaten voters and block poll and campaign workers by the threat of force -- one even brandishing what prosecutors call a deadly weapon.

The three black panthers, Minister King Samir Shabazz, Malik Zulu Shabazz and Jerry Jackson were charged in a civil complaint in the final days of the Bush administration with violating the voter rights act by using coercion, threats and intimidation. Shabazz allegedly held a nightstick or baton that prosecutors said he pointed at people and menacingly tapped it. Prosecutors also say he "supports racially motivated violence against non-blacks and Jews."

The Obama administration won the case last month, but moved to dismiss the charges on May 15.

The complaint says the men hurled racial slurs at both blacks and whites.

A poll watcher who provided an affidavit to prosecutors in the case noted that Bartle Bull, who worked as a civil rights lawyer in the south in the 1960's and is a former campaign manager for Robert Kennedy, said it was the most blatant form of voter intimidation he had ever seen.

In his affidavit, obtained by FOX News, Bull wrote "I watched the two uniformed men confront voters and attempt to intimidate voters. They were positioned in a location that forced every voter to pass in close proximity to them. The weapon was openly displayed and brandished in plain sight of voters."

He also said they tried to "interfere with the work of other poll observers ... whom the uniformed men apparently believed did not share their preferences politically," noting that one of the panthers turned toward the white poll observers and said "you are about to be ruled by the black man, cracker."

A spokesman for the Department of Justice told FOX News, "The Justice Department was successful in obtaining an injunction that prohibits the defendant who brandished a weapon outside a Philadelphia polling place from doing so again. Claims were dismissed against the other defendants based on a careful assessment of the facts and the law. The department is committed to the vigorous prosecution of those who intimidate, threaten or coerce anyone exercising his or her sacred right to vote."

Libel Lawfare Quicklook With Video

I attended the Middle East Forum's Libel Lawfare Conference and all I got was a 100 year old English translation of the Urdu booklet "The British Government and Jihad." Actually, I got far more, as I'm sure most of the participants did from this excellent conference courtesy of the Legal Project at the Middle East Forum. Hat's off to Brooke Goldstein for organizing it, sorry I missed your opening remarks. The story of the Urdu booklet on Jihad took place during lunch, and will have to wait for another time. But since I may have your attention, will proceed with a condensed review of the day supported by a bunch of shaky videos.

Within the plush embrace of the Capital Hilton, three blocks north of the Comrade in Chief's residence, the conference offered panelists with domestic and foreign perspectives on lawfare. From the morning session came the following items for consideration:

Frank Gaffney: Religious and Secular trans-nationalism has America in a pincer movement that if not opposed will end free speech as we know it. The first amendment won't be revoked, but yielding sovereignty to global organizations, campus speech codes, and lawsuits will "chill" free speech to the point that no one will want to exercise, or be able to afford to, their right. Related point and action item: Say No to Koh. Call your Congressman and Senators: No on Harold Koh!

RFDAH Note: Two words that should stop being used in the discourse of this subject because of over-repetition and/or irrelevance: chilling effect and speaking respectfully. Chill is just over-used and I want viciously passionate arguments. If they mean civil discourse vs. jerry springer, that's different, but respect grants quarters to an enemy that would afford us none.

Prof. Alan M. Dershowitz: Italy indicted him on comments he made about an Italian judge from his office in Boston. Italy extended its jurisdiction from Rome to Baaahston. He flew to Italy to confront them, and will take his course through all the highest courts of the land in Eurabia. Point being, when no crime has been committed you must be acquitted. Slinking away with an unenforceable foreign judgment against you is unacceptable and does nothing to further the cause. Pick your head up, fight the charges, demand to be cleared, promote, and get the US gov to more actively promote our model of free speech.

Legal system as it is has most responsible media (TV and journalism) with the least protection and the least responsible (internet) gets the most protection. This is greatly skewing the system.

Perhaps the best moments were his exchanges with Gaffney on Sharia. It would be the cowards way to say Dershowitz was a prickly liberal refusing to acknowledge the realities of the world. Dershowitz challenged Gaffney, "you have not made the case." Dershowitz would go on to acknowledge and request the opportunity to learn more about Sharia, but his point stands. If he represents the people we are trying to win over, we need to improve our game. You may be right, but you're not being winning the argument. I'm pretty sure the Law and Order scene change music was going to play at any second.

Finally, free speech in neutral and restrictions work both ways. Dershowitz kept going back to Kashrut law protections offering protection for Sharia. RFDAH Note: How can you be pro-Israel and pro-sharia (he defended various sharia compliance scenarios, not enough detail in scenarios for him to really to make an informed opinion if he wasn't already savvy on shraia. )?

Andrew C. McCarthy: US government has a duty to protect the freedom of US citizens over the rest of the world.

James Taranto: Free Speech not in danger based on SCOTUS Brandenburg v. Ohio. Works both ways though. Advocating violence is protected speech but incitement to violence is not protected. RFDAH Note: Disagree, free speech very much threatened.

John J. Walsh: Out in deep left field. Everything you'd expect from a defense lawyer. His lone good point, libel tourism laws as proposed could be too broad and strip those actually damaged of the right to legal recourse. His solution: an international body to determine a solution. RFDAH gags.

Then began the peanut gallery circus of questions, and it was a notable peanut gallery featuring Charles Jacobs, a Pakistani Imam, and a host of others distinguished individuals. RFDAH note on question etiquette in general. I know the nerves may get you, the excitement may overtake you...but get to the damn point. Too many, and one is too many, first offered cathartic releases before getting to an actual question. This left about eight people without time to ask their questions, and I really wanted to hear what the lady in the festooned hijab was going to ask.





Lunch break. I didn't have access to the lunch time Invitation Only session, so I decided to do the next best thing, go right to the elephant in the room, the one who stood out amongst a sea yamicas and gentiles, the Imam with the big hat. I spent 30 minutes debating the Pakistani Imam and his Senegal national companion about Islamist aggression, Free Speech, and a Prophet of Mercy that beheaded 600 Jews. That is another story, but I will reveal this, while the give and take was good, and I walked away feeling these men were not wahabbists, the Imam did blame the beheading of the defeated Jewish tribe on the Jews themselves. It is part of the bizarre and enshrined victimhood in Islam, even among the Imam's ostensibly peaceful group banned by the Pakistani government, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

My notes on the afternoon are brief as the I put down pen and picked up camera. The video is shaky, so my recommendation is turn off the monitor and turn up the speakers. In summary, while the UK is moving to toughen its libel laws to address the libel tourism issue, the EU is an unsalvageable abomination that should be razed to the ground and not started over.

Stimulus: The Chicago Way

Here is what happens when Chicago politics and a Leftist 'Soft' Junta gain access to power:

Crime Terror Nexus Arrest Near Radical Falls Church Mosque?

Fairfax County Police led a massive bust near the popular and growing radical Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Falls Church, VA. The strip mall down the street that is hangout of choice for the Islamist enclave surrounding Dar al-Hijrah is called Build America, thus the title Operation Build America. Time again we've seen the nexus between petty crime, organized crime, and jihadis. Hopefully this made a bigger impact than can be released to the public. You must click on the link to read the names and see pictures of those arrested. 16 of 27 middle eastern males between ages 18 and 48. Just goes to show that even though FXPD had a Jihadi mole, the boys in blue can still kick a little ass.

Undercover Operation Nets 143 Criminal Charges

On Wednesday, May 6, over 135 law enforcement personnel participated in concluding a year-long undercover investigation. Operation Build America was launched in May 2008 to better understand the criminal activity taking place in and around the Build America Shopping Center. The shopping center is nestled in the Skyline community in the 3800 block of South George Mason Drive. Community concerns of illegal activities in the shopping center coupled with indicators that crime was in the upswing sprung the operation into motion.

The investigation successfully infiltrated several criminal organizations and businesses operating around the center. Undercover police officers identified nearly 40 people suspected of criminal activity that ranges from property crimes to crimes of violence. The undercover operation successfully recovered stolen firearms and illegal narcotics including cocaine and marijuana.

Collectively, 143 criminal arrest warrants and 15 search warrants were issued in this undercover operation.

The success of the operation can be attributed to the coordinated effort of several units and agencies:
